GReddy can suck my left.....
I will never ever purchase a GReddy product ever again. Their customer service sucks, their products, for the most part suck, and they're overpriced. Did I mention that their customer service sucks?
Get this...the banjo bolt which feeds oil into the center section on their turbos broke on my kit. I scrounge the country trying to locate one of these bolts. No luck. No one even has a part number. I call GReddy. I'm told there's no part number for it and that there's no price either. I'm told to contact an authorized dealer who can fax in a description of the bolt and I may get it in a few weeks, possibly a few months. Mind you the car cannot run without this bolt.
So I call my authorized local dealer. Doesn't have a part number and tells me to call and ask for Matt or Kenji. They'll sell it to me directly.
So I call GReddy. AGAIN. I'm on hold. Someone comes on and asks if I've been helped. "Yes, just waiting for Matt or Kenji." Well, can I help you? he replies..."well yes, I'm looking for a banjo bolt for my T78." "Ahh, you'll have to contact the authorized dealer in your area." That's great. No part number. He then provides me with the part number. And the cost. $30 friggin $$$ for a banjo bolt. I asked if he was kidding. I asked if he thought it was sort of expensive for a small bolt. His reply, "well it's a pretty big bolt". Enough said. I'm not even going to comment on his response.
I've just purchased the domain name whygreddysucks.com where everyone will be able to come and share their horror stories concerning this company. Stock the damn bolts and don't make your supporters run through hoops to purchase a tiny *** part. Sell the damn things directly on the web site. GReddy, you need to check yourself.
Oh did I mention my EGT gauge which lasted all of three days before going on the fritz? It's been SIX MONTHS and I have yet to see a replacement for it. Did I mention the BRAND NEW T78 kit installed on a friend's car which began puking oil out the turbo due to a bad seal? Brand new. Out of the box. Almost killed his freshly ported and rebuilt engine. Did I mention that their customer service sucks? Anyone curious how I really feel?

I agree 100% although I am happy with my my T-78 kit I can't overlook their total lack of customer service. I will never buy another Greddy product again either. I switched from the banjo bolt to a an style fitting. I think I still have the bolt in question (I'll look tonight) and it's yours for $29.95 ............. just kidding pm me your address and it is yours.

LOL, thanks Bill :-) A small update. www.turbochargers.com has the bolts for $15 each. They also make a replacement fitting with braided hose. Problem is, I need to know the size and the thread pitch of the bolt. Don't have it in front of me at the moment as I'm at work and the shop that's working on my car is closed. The RX7 store took the time to rummage through the inventory to see if they had one so my hat is off to them for the effort. Guess I'll have to wait til Monday.
Bill, tried calling Atlantic over by you and their number was disconnected. Are they out of business now? I'll PM you my address. I owe you a case of beer. At the very least.

i am happy with my T78 kit also but you are 100% correct they suck as far as customer service. i'm sure everyone knows about my fiasco with my missing intercooler pipe and how i had to argue with the president of greddy usa on a first name basis haha

Yeah I remember that Vosko. It's just a shame really. They're only pissing off the customers and it's certainly not doing them any good on the PR front. The only thing I CAN'T complain about is my GReddy exhaust. Sure I'd like the canister to be a bit smaller, but it's reasonably quiet, flows well, yada, yada, yada.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is why you are better off going with standard parts you can get off the shelf. (Garrett, etc...) GReedy/Trust has a has a horrible reputation when it comes to situations like this. All of this on top of the fact that their turbos are modified Mitsubishi parts (<-- a company that is even worse) makes for one big headache.
Raise your hand if you have a Trust/GReedy/Mitsubishi/Garrett/Whatever the hell cause there are no replacement parts to be had?
While GReddy kits are nice, I don't think there is anything groundbreaking about them. They are old and dated designs compared to most of the stuff that you can get for a fraction of the price at any of your favorite turbo dealers.

The big 3 which are Apexi, Greddy and HKS do not like dealing with the public. They are setup to avoid that as much as possible and rely on the dealers to handle the problems. Thats why you will always get the same response which is talk with the dealer you bought the product from.

I came up with something better name wise. More detalls as they become available :-)
it's always the little things that bite you in the *** with these or any other cars it seems...RE Seven, buy something with moving parts. Wait til it breaks (hopefully under warranty) and THEN we'll talk :-) Like I said, love my GReddy exhaust.
On a side note, the Cosmo engine is now in and ready to fire up. At least something is going right!

I definitely have to put Blitz on this post. Their customer service completely sucks and I will never in my ******' life purchase anything from Blitz. I spent about $800 on their SBC I-D boost controller and power meter. I was so pissed off with them that I wanted to ******' kill them.

Michel: Sorry to hear about the the problems you experienced. (I just read this post). I have the Greddy/Trust master catalogue at home. Although it seems like you found a solution, I'll see if I can peek in there for a part number.
Good customer service in this industry can be REALLY hard to come by some times. I've had good experiences and bad ones. There are numerous issues can cause these types of problems.
1) Service technicians are not fully trained to handle the calls. Often times, these people have a "general" knowledge and not only that,...some times, things are vehicle specific. (lack of specialization)
2) Some technicians are good at say...wiring electronics. Often times, those guys are really busy.
3) The companies receive a lot of stupid phone calls.

Seriously. You really don't know how many people call in regarding, how do I get a sponsorship? Can I get sponsored? What can I do to get sponsored? I need an exhaust. How much does this cost? What about that one? Why does it cost so much? Why can't I purchase directly from you (instead of going through a dealer)? Do you have any shift ***** in stock? I saw this car...and it had a really nice exhaust on it. The car had HKS stickers on it and it sounded really nice...which exhaust is it? My buddy has a "G-READY" exhaust (this was at International Auto Salon...someone was talking to a Greddy rep)......

Also, the aftermarket industry is usually not that fast when dealing w/ actual customers. People usually want things fast fast fast. But, if you guys have noticed...some times,...some companies are laid back. Kinda like companies in Italy w/ their mid day wine drinking. Hmm....maybe I'm going to the wrong places? hahaha

Yeah I thought about switching to a "regular" line and fitting and nixing the banjo fitting. Amazingly, a local shop had two overnighted from GReddy. Maybe one of them read the board :-)
www.turbochargers.com has the complete fitting/line assembly, just tell them the length. I'll measure the GReddy fittings when they come in and design an alternative. I'll post what you need to replace it.
