Fuel injectors for a 35/40 setup

I currently have stock 550 primaries, and 1300 secondaries. I see two feasable options to upgrade my fuel setup to safely accomodate the 35/40 kit I'm installing:
1. Sell the 1300's, get custom rails and 1600 (or 1680) secondaries.
2. Keep the current 1300 secondaries and go with 850 primaries. Also I'd likely need a FPR plumbed into the stock rail.
Any thoughts, reccommendations? It's generally a street car, and reliability is the primary concern. Also have the denso fuel pump. Not planning more than 450 rwhp. thanks for the input fellas.

I'm running 850's front and back at 360RWHP, no problems.

check out maxcoopers web site for a good fuel calculator. What you have should be fine.

Experiment seven is correct. The 1300cc injectors are 850's that are bored out. They do have a fairly high failure rate just like alot of other automotive parts that are bored out to allow for more flow. Look at piston engines that get huge bore out jobs. They are never as strong as the original cylinder wall. Where the 1600cc injectors are a stock Bosch part and they are extremely reliable. Just something to think about.

I haven't installed my GT35/40 kit yet but I have a Bosch 750 Primaries and 1600 Secondaries with a supra pump. I was told it would be good for my goal which is 400-425.

While they are enlarged 850's, I have yet to see any physical evidence or real proof to support this theory. Always hearsay.

I have seen them fail on a couple of motors. One of them happened to be a bridgeported 20B!! Talk about a serious waste of a beautiful engine. That thing blew up like a fire cracker on the 4th of July. The others I saw were all on 13B-REWs. There wre only 3 injectors that I have seen fail. However, 3 is MORE than enough. Just my experience though.

from what i recall the high failure rate is caused by poor parts in the first place. we send RC our 550's wanting 850's. well the 550's are cracked worn out and some parts just cant be replaced. imagine going to mazda and buying a new injector then sending it to RC. results should be better. waste of money if you ask me though. i would just get a custom fuel rail and run bosch injectors all the way. more fuel, cheaper...
