Est. HP w/ GT35/40 and these figures

How much RWHP would a 13B turbo w/ :

GT35/40
21psi
Large Ptreet Port
Custom Tubular Intake Manifold

i figure 21psi is the highest you can go with 94octance, right? or more....?

Assuming you have the other goodies like full exhaust, intercooler, ignition amp, I'd estimate 440-460 rwhp assuming you don't blow the engine. I don't think it's very safe to run 21 psi on pump fuel.... Experts??

I won't say that I'm an expert, but I think 21 PSI is way to high on pump gas, unless you have a different rating or something. 18psi is usually about the limit that I see and those guys are making round about 400 RWHP with this turbo. The thing is that there are TONS of parameters which decide how much power you make which include the intake and turbo but also the size and shape of the exhaust, design of the exhaust manifold, inlet temps, and probably most importantly tuning.

I would be very carefully trying anything over 18psi (on anything but race fuel) without an extremely good tunner who knows exactly what he/she is doing.

This turbo will make 400 rwhp at 15-16 psi on pump gas with a stock motor. I think your can make well over 400 at the wheels with a ported motor at the same psi. I have this turbo on my FD and I have made 319@10 psi and 340@12 psi. I think 21 psi is goin got be way too high for pump gas on a rotary engine. A ported motor is even more likely to blow without the proper fuel at those boost levels. Also 10.5 temp range plugs will be needed for those boost levels as well as an upgraded ignition. Stock ign is good up to about 18 psi. I use the HKS twin power ign but there are others that will also work. 21 psi on a ported motor with this turbo will see 500 hp at the wheels. Thats some serious power in a 2800lbs car.

According to my Powermeter (yet to get the car on a dyno), I've put down 525rwhp @ 19.5psi and 550rwhp @ 21psi. Mods in sig.

I plan to run 20psi daily on pump gas (94 octane) with the aid of a WaterInjection system.

Thanks for the replies, heh, i thought 21psi would be alright w/ 94 and large ported motor. Guess not But yeah.....bascially, i'd like my future set-up something like this:

GT35/40
Large port
Straight through exhaust 3"
Pullies, etc,etc..

so 18psi-19psi w/ large port and 94 is safe?

Nocab72, nice numbers, please post your dyno sheet when ever you go the dyno. Also how will a waterinjection system, help you run higher boost? does it spray water in the intercooler?

thanks.

Not to butt in or push things off topic or anything, but why does everyone mention water or water/alcohol injection while no one suggest propane injection?

I'm relatively new to rotaries, but I know a few DSM people who use propane to help raise their octane rating (propane is ~104-120 octane rating depending on what you want to believe).

Propane should also help intake temps as it's released at a temp somewhere around -60F. It also seems like propane would make more sense in retarding detonation as it actually burns, whereas water does nothing to produce any power.

Propane also has a lower BTU rating than gasoline, which should make it burn cooler thatn gas, meaning that it's not going to make your combustion temperature rise any.

Maybe I'm missing something. Anyone care to enlighten me on the merits of WI, or WI/Alcohol v. propane injection?
