budget build...?
ok so im wanting to be somewhere around 400+rwhp ....im wanting to run a single turbo setup and looking for the most inexpensive but durable and reliabe setup....i had posted about the davinci af61r kit but not much feedback so any advice would be great ...thanx

My buddy is running 425 RWHP with a fresh rebuilt engine lightly ported (I did It)FC T11 he runs a T4 turbo, larger rad,front mount Intercooler,conservative timing,850 primary Inj ,1600 seconds,and a stand alone Computer, we had it run on a Mustang( not the car,the name of the Dyno)..........and it makes 425HP ,plus do not forget the nice open 3 inch exaust ....goodluck Fp

Off the top of my head for 400RWHP with some room for growth.
med. or Large street port ( I'd go large horse power is addictive)
T4 turbo similar to the GT42R or the GT45R ( I suggest BW air werks line. it's cheaper and I think a better turbo although not a ball bearing CHRA)
725cc Injector dynamics primaries and 2000 CC injectors secondary That's enough to get you damn close to 500RWHP if not over with a good tune
4in exhaust ( you can get that made locally for less than a cat back it is a hassle though
Spec stage 3+ clutch or similar
And a stand alone of some type. I'm not hating on the PFC I just don't like it. Try a Haltech PS 1000 or I could get you a vi-pec V44 which fits in the stock ECU case, but is a standalone similar to the PS1000 and all around better than the PFC IMHO.

^ GT42 has probably more "room to grow" than necessary for his goals. anything from the class of 67-70mm inducer compressor could do it without a stretch. 35R class turbos can still do it too

I'm not really so sharp with the Garrett stuff. BW is where my money goes. I'd say a S300SX with a .85ar... would do him right for less than 1K. He'd still have to build his own manifold, but lets be honest that's really not all that hard, just time consuming.

You only need a 61mm compressor if you want response and 400-450whp at reasonable boost levels(15-17psi) If you feel you're going to want 500whp more often then look at 67mm (or bigger) if setup right 500whp should be had at 20-23psi. Personally, I recommend our GT3574 not because it's ours but because the power, response and price are all pretty well rounded. 400-460whp@15-17psi comes on strong just shy of 4krpm price is $895, and it's proven there are a lot of threads on it.

A 42r would be WAY too big for his goals. Go with a 35r or a 60 series Borg Warner turbo. S361's and S362's are relatively inexpensive and bulletproof; not apex seal proof though
