boost creep on rx7store 35r kit
Does anyone have experience with boost control on the rx7store gt35r kit? The relevant stuff from my setup is:
streetport
T4 gt35r .82 hotside
RE V-mount
rx7store manifold
Tial 44mm dumped to atmosphere
3" rx7store dp
3" non resonated mp
80mm magnaflow Ti catback
I cracked the Tial and it has the yellow spring which is rated at 8.7psi. The problem I am having is that I get BAD creep with boost controller OFF. I have a profec spec-S that I havent even attempted using yet. With my exhaust silencer in i get no creep, gate dumps around 9psi, stays rock solid to redline, its perfect. With the silencer out it doesnt even open till past 10psi and anything over 1/4 throttle gets creep up to 15+psi way before redline if wot. Anyone have info they could offer? Wastegate line is from the uim, i know its not the best location but I doubt it could be responsible for going almost 1/2bar over spring pressure with no boost controller.

you need to run vac to both the side and top of the wastegate.
Line out from the turbo to the boost controller needs to be "T" off, run that "T" to the side waste gate, then the line out of the boost controller needs to go to the top wastegate, i had the same problem with my GT42 and dual 38mm tial.

Try disconnecting the boost controller all together and running just on the gate. This will tell you if you have something incorrect in the boost controller plumbing as Azcamel suggests. 1revvin7's suggestion is good as well. I have also noticed with the Profec that I seem to get slightly more stable boost control with the unit on even if I just want to run at wastegate pressure. Just turn it down to that level.

Exactly.
I've seen it bring it down that and then some. Go over BC lines and install, confirm it is correct, tap source for the gate as 1Rev7 suggests.

I have a 13psi spring in my Tial 44mm. When I had the boost source from the UIM I was seeing 19-22psi depending on temps. Now, I see a solid 17psi after welding on a nipple on the compressor pipe...
Still creeping, but a huge difference in wastegate response.

Ok, thanks for clearing that up, ill give that a try. Do you think I should be able to add a nipple to the ic pipe just after the coupler from the comp discharge and get the same results? I mean we are talking only a few inches away and I would rather have it on my ic pipe than my comp housing.

trust me, i had it comeing form The UIM, then compressor housing, still creep and boost way over my dual wategate springs, only until after i re-routed my lines the way i described did it control boost. here taken from Tial directly, if you want run less then half of your max boost then you need to use both port on your wastegate.

Just removed all the bc stuff and test drove. Top nipple on wg is open to atmosphere, side nipple goes direct to vac source at uim, creep is just as bad. Cant hear the gate open till about 10psi, wot results in 14+psi by 6k. Thanks for the link but i think im going to go with a welded nipple, I just have a 90 silicone elbow between the comp discharge and ic pipe and I dont want to be worried about how that quick tap will seal on a bent hose.

yes... if you look at the diagram i posted from Tial it says to vent the top or connect it to control boost, try the line routing that i posted, mine starts to dump at 8psi as my wastegate spring.

Azcamel, I'm a bit confused...isn't the boost controller supposed to only let you go higher than spring rate? How did it fix your creep issue if all your doing is applying more pressure on the top side to keep the WG valve closed (for higher boost)?
I guess I'll try it when I get my downpipe back...I have a Profec Type-S I'll be using.

Um, no - thats not his problem.
Side port is the signal - feed that manifold pressure and the wastegate will run on spring pressure (if the source is correct and nothing else is wrong)
Venting the top is perfectly fine.
The diagram you posted from Tial even says "vent to atmosphere or add air for adjustable boost control"
I've ran like the above before for a long time and never had problems.

Well, i have to go out of town for work for several weeks so i wont have a chance to work on it for awhile but i appreciate everyones input. If i decide to not run -an line for boost control ill just order that quick tap instead of welding a fitting, hopefully ill get everything working right by moving the pressure source.
