ArKay Turbocharger help!

Does anyone have any experience with the ARKay turbo setup on a first generation rx-7?
I purchased a 1st gen in december 2002 and just got it out of storage about a month ago. The car runs great, but I am in the process of trying to learn the 4 barrel Holley that was supplied with the ARKay turbo setup. This setup consisted of the Rajay turbocharger adn the Arkay installation package with the boost gage, replacement holley 4 barrel, and wastegate. It claims 200 horsepower, but right now it chugs out at 3k RPMs, but if I shift at higher RPMs then there is no problem with the chugging. I have recently learned how to adjust the fuel mixture on the holley.

I know this turbo setup with specifically designed for the first gen by Kas Kastner, but I want to add an intercooler. Can anyone provide any help with adding an intercooler, which one to purchase, etc. I am looking to put within the front airdam that is on the car, in front of the oil cooler.
Holley tuning tips would be great too. I am lost and researching as much as I can on-line but information on these turbos is few and far between.

Any tips, advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Will

My arkay turbo just went in my Rx, so maybe you're having a problem with the draw through too. I'll be needing to find a replacement, or succumb to removing it completely( )

Does it smoke much when idling and burn much oil?

Hate to bring up an OLD *** thread but it seems liek the only one with references to the Arkay turbo set up. So what flange does this use? and what are possible replacements for the turbo alone?

Ah, The old Rotary Engineering kit. On the 13b they claimed 319 hp with no ic....Back in the day that thing was a street missile.

The Arkay unit used a flange that came with the turbo, the replacement 4 barrel holley as well as the full exhaust system.

Arkay Turbo kit on the first generation RX-7

Yes I have installed many Arkay Turbo kit on the first generation RX-7 and they run very strong,I converted many to a weber carburetor with a manifold that attached directly to the Arkay intake manifold, the Holley works fine but the Arkay adapter to use a Holley is to long and the throttle response is much better with a Weber carburetor,if you have a problem running above 3000 rpm, must be running way to rich fuel wise, check your fuel pressure 3-5 psi would be fine,
good luck with the tune,
John
