mine is up and running...been so for about 6 months. pump gas and race gas dont mean anything. the pulling doesnt slow down up top like the t78 did and it is a nice steady acceleration...not the 5500 take a **** like the t78 does. dont like dynos but dee has one with an upgraded manifold and straight through exhaust so subtract about 40 hp from it.

No kidding , between all the hype for the RD85 and the GT40r you would think we would have seen several dyno sheets , and even more important some feed back from the guys who purchased them .I am a bit surprised after a year we are still only seeing one dyno for each kit

the thing is that most people do not like dynos. i just hate the sound and will never do it again. dynos will be different with everyone. a good tuner will get another 30 hp out of a car with ease. you can count on mid to high 400s at 18 to 20 psi unless you get a great tuner and you can get more.

Since when? Escpecially this time of year with a lot of tracks being closed. The dyno tells the truth is this maybe why most people dont like it? I dont think I have ever heard anyone say they dont like the dyno unless when they put their car on there they were dissappointed with the results. Not busting your ***** I just have a feeling that "most of people do not like dynos" is not the reason we arent seeing dyno numbers. But hell I could be totally wrong.

the dyno on kg parts is showing 450 wheels at 15 psi and after talking to jason he says thats about where I should be as well with his stage 2 streetporting with all the other supporting and bolt on mods, 20 psi I would figure to be low to mid 500's with a good tuner considering Jason hit 506 to the wheels with a slightly modded t-78 kit and all the bolt ons at 19 psi.

Hey Guys, I have recently installed a R85 kit in my 93 rx7. One word.... NASTY!!! Ive tried stock twins, the gt 35/40, have been in a hand full of 78's, Ive never felt anything like it. I dont care what anyone one says, i have it on my car and it was worth every dime. Well, its kinda big, its gotta have lag, right? NOPE, no lag watsoever. Extremley responsive. I never thought id be this satisfied. This turbo is just down right dirty. So, if ur planning to purchase a turbo setup that will fulfill ur needs, think no more because this thing will rip ur head off. dee tuned my car for 15 psi on pump gas and 19.5 on race. I went to the track the first day it opened just before it closed, so i only got 1 run in. I had too much air pressure in my tires, got a crappy launch, and had to start featherin the gas in 3rd because i was spinnin and i still managed a trap speed of 125mph. As far as the dyno goes, i cant wait to get there, its just a little bit tough being in school full time, i havent got a chance to get there, but when i do, ull kno about it. I kno i wont be disappointed because ive felt 400 hp cars and i guarantee mine is around 510-520hp on 19psi. Dee will be tuning my car again in the spring time for 25psi. In other words, full potential isnt even accomplished yet. I just wanna thank demetrios for providing me w/ this turbo and the excellent tune. I aslo wanna say that Jim from JPR Imports is the man because he did all my work as far as porting, fuel, drivetrain, suspension, etc... and thanks to keith from kgparts for great customer service for my parts. So far, i raced my friends kawasaki ninja and left him like he was standing still. While blowing by em, my headlight cover flew off and hit em in the helmet. hahahaha! Also, an 11.20 383stroker camaro, w/ alotta work done.... well, lets put it this way, my girlfriend was in the passenger seat and asked me if they were even on the gas. Ill leave it at that. Well, enough rambling, i just had to say a few things since their were questions concerning the r85 kit. so on that note..... wanna race?

My R85-equipped car was started for the first time today. I'll be picking it up next week. I can't wait to see how it drives.

My car is up and running. KD is supposed to tune but I've played with it alittle at 12lbs. Right now my stock wheels are on it for winter and I can break the tires loose in 3rd with ease. KD will eventually be tuning for 20-22psi and I don't think I'll be scared of many other cars after that.

Hmmmm, kinda looks like the holsett me and Ernie played with. Definitely responsive
but rebuilds from hell. I'm interested to see the longevity of these r85 turbos. Someone
said they are kkk/ borg warner so maybe they will live. If so, this may be the turbo of
all our dreams- 600rwhp and spool, kinda makes me drool.

not kkk and dee ran a whole race season and never replaced it. rebuilds will be cheap if it needs one. i got the first kit and the turbo is built like a rock. no flimsyass pieces like the gt series turbos. it is a true big shaft.
