There are many diffrent side ports from mild polishing of the runners to making the port as big as possible with out it eating a corner seal or getting blow by past the first oil control ring, you can also mess with the port length, the way the port opens, diffrent port timming, the way the bowl of the port is shapped all kinds of stuff.. So in effect what he's saying is it's more toward the wild side of a side port and not some mild polish job.
