Anyone here satisfied with their XS TO4E or TO4S kit??

There is no turbo on the market that can make anywhere close to 400 RWHP at 1 bar and make full boost by 3K rpms! If you want really quick spool then you are going to have to sacrifice some top end.

That probably is about the lower limit. I can make 12-13 psi or so by 3000 RPM with my (clipped, so it doesn't spool up quite as early) RX6, while lugging it in fifth gear. carcrazy can probably make close to full boost around 3K under the same conditions, and he made just over 400RWHP at 1 bar. carcrazy, what kind of boost do you get at 3000 RPM, lugging it in fifth gear with your T04E?

I beg to differ....
Brian Cain made 423rwhp with 15psi on a 60-1 t04b and pump gas.
I never dyno tuned my FC with the haltech tuned on my wideband, but I figured that I'm in the same ballpark.
We both have pretty nicely street ported engines.
Now working on the FD....

I've had the XS T04E kit on my car for a couple months now. I'm very happy with it, although there's still some bugs somewhere that need to be worked out before I'll be making the kind of power I should be (325rwhp right now). I'm probably just going to drop it off at XS and let them track down what the problem is.
Lag is not a problem at all. After I installed it, I did notice a small difference (you don't get boost at low rpm as easily). Its easily streetable. I haven't had it on the track yet- can't wait till I do!
I'm totally convinced Mazda should have made the 3rd gens a single turbo instead of twins. And figured out a way to pass emissions without the airpump system.
If you're only going to run pump gas you really don't need to get the t04s- get the t04e and get a little less lag. The t04s works better at higher boost levels that won't work with pump gas.
Installation was pretty straightforward. There's one thing in the instructions that's wrong and some is vague, but you can get through it if you understand how things are supposed to work. The only thing I don't like about the kit is the oil return pipe- the hose is supposed to go over a fitting and it's almost at a 90 degree angle. The fitting should have an angle in it to make the connection easier. I'm having a hose made that's the right diameter and has a 90 in it to make things match up better.

A couple of things
I will make around 12-13 psi at 3000 rpms.... I will have to test it in 5th gear today and I make 400+ RWHP at 15 psi on 89 octane fuel with a ported, low compression rotor engine. If I didn't cut the spring on my wastegate, I might reach 15 psi by 3000 rpms with my APEXi RX6A.
Also the power numbers sound slightly disappointing for the T04S kits.
I made 375 RWHP with the APEXi turbo, PMS "purple", and a mazda remanufactured engine at 15 psi.
I guess it could be the tuning. I've had over 100 dyno runs on my car. Also my current setup with the E6K was personally tuned by Matt aka "HITman"
Somebody post some more dynos of the new XS kits.

I just got the T04E put in last week, very happy with it. Wanting to dyno it at XS but they will be moving to a new location so they told me to hit them up somewhere in late May or June.

What were the results from the dyno?

silver,
I think BDC made his power at a little over 1bar of boost at 7800 or 8000 rpm.
I wasn't talking about 3krpm. No way out of the T04B and ported 13B.
I'd like to see a rotary that is streetable make those numbers to the wheels. I'd be interested in make those numbers =o).
Yes, those little details do make a difference. That air-to-water IC set-up worked pretty damn good for street and strip. I wouldn't expect it to hold well during a road race event.
