Not to try and go against the subject but I have Prosport which are very similar and very good as well. I was debating on getting STRI gauges and went with the prosport ones. I was very impressed considering how much they cost. I went with their peak&hold models.

You should Google them and check their site out.

I have the STRI white tint face gauges, Boost/oil pressure/water temp/fuel pressure and love them. Awesome gauges for the price and look. Everyone complements me on the gauges. Bang for the buck IMO.

I as well have the STRI gauges. Im running water temp, boost, oil press/temp, and egt. Only problem i have is with the egt gauge, it has not worked at all since i pulled out of the box. But that will soon be repaired.

Yeah I went with the STRI gauges as well. They have the look and feel of the DEFI type gauges without the need for the controller. Currently installed the boost & water temp with a full A-pillar and I have to say that illuminated they look stock.

They also have a very nice platinum ring with the smoked lense, goes well with the black interior on my 7.

The X-Line is great for the money, but if you can afford it I would go with the DSD-SLM II Series (Smoked Lens Racing Meter).

The main reason I went with this was for the added features;

* User Adjustable Warning Indicator
* Backlight Dimmer
* Titanium Bezel Finish

And of course the smoked lens, which makes the gauge not visible in power'd off state. Each gauge comes with a slave SPDT switch that you can run to control the user adustable function. In the case of the Boost, you can set your peak to monitor for boost creep etc.

You get some of the features that Defi gives you, but much cheaper and no controller. Also if you want to look more JDM go with the Metric models rather then the Imperial.

x line has a smoker lens look also, i was scared that the smoked lens may look like shitty dark glass so i got the clear face with amber back lights, im pretty pleased i payed maybe 250 for 3 gauges.

Are these gauges accurate? I REALLY want to buy them because i know for a fact, the prosport models, ALL OF THEM are inaccurate.

prosports are loud too, you can hear the stepper motor... just seems cheaply built.

Search, many people have had unacceptable issues with them, theres a thread in the Interior/Exterior/Audio section. Things like: inaccurate boost readings, crooked needles and so on. NO DICE.

I have an issue looking at the STRI gauges though. Whats with the fucked up increments between numbers and inconsistent number order? look at them and you'll see what i mean . . .

Seems more and more like i'm going to have to buy Defi's.

On my old car I had 60mm Defi Link Meters, but just picked up some 52mm "blue-racer gauge" in white backlight for half the cost. Defi quality for less, and they come in 52mm which is nice. I would suggest those over STRI and Prosport.

I have both prosport wtr and oil temp gauges. I tested both sensors connected to the gauge and both registered dead on with boiling water. 212 degrees on spot.

So far so good. As for sensor life, I will retest at 6000 miles.
