Hello all, been gone for a while, but if you check this link, the last picture(double click) is my in tank/surge/external pump all out of the car. The pump has about a year of daily driving from the previous owner(unknown miles), about ten hours of dyno pulls ( including a two, and a three hour session with over 70 WOT pulls), and about 30 track hours, 20 minutes at a time. It is very loud, but then so is the Bosch pump. I have the bosch as a lift pump in tank, and you can definitely hear it. I do like bosch reliability, but the A1000 was in my garage, so here it is... http://www.teamfc3s.org/forum/member...tos&car_id=562 Carl

This is turning out to be a great thread.

From what I've gathered... You could run a Walbro 255lph in tank to a surge and then a Bosch 044 externally after the surge tank and that would guarantee enough fuel for 500whp?

ok, so if i run a single 044...
1, am not so clear on the voltage set up..does it plug to the fd harness?
2, will it support 1680/1000cc?
3, will it support 500bhp

Thanks

George

It was to my understanding that the bosch 044 pump is an external pump.. My friend (rob20rx7) runs 2 walbro and makes over 500rwhp...

Here's my surge tank. I'm was also running 3 044 pumps before but decided to ditch the fuel cell. I'm using an r32 gtr intake pump to the surge tank then 2 044 pumps.

Why are you guys running two 044 pumps after the surge tank? Are they running parallel at the same time or is one set as a backup pump?

I don't understand why you have both surge tank pumps running at the same time? Isn't one alone already keeping up with the in-tank pump?

I have the return from the engine pouring back into the surge tank. That helps the supply.

What I was trying to get at was whether one 044 pump would do the job. Are two 044 pumps necessary after the surge tank?

I have a 20b that likes to drink fuel. It may be different for you application.

Those 20B's sound like some thirst engine. What do you use your car for?

Does you're single r32 in-tank pump pulls enough fuel at low pressure for the surge tank without any hint of problems?

I don't actually have it up and running yet this time around but I don't see it being a problem. The engine return will get dumped back into the surge tank keeping it full.

Gene Felber did an 044 in-tank installation for his 35R. He calculated the setup (all aeroquip lines to front of car, SX regulator, and 1600/550 injectors) being good for up to 436 rwhp at normal pressures, and safe duty cycles. I did quite a bit of research, and was (is) a sharp guy... a little search might yeild some of his posts on the subject.
