another xspower paper weight
well just wanted to report that my xspower turbo has taken a dump on me , it is pissing oil everywhere.
Damn thing lasted 2800 miles, the sad thing is that 2200 miles was during new motor break in = no boost. And 600 miles of mild boosting @ 8 psi laying down 300rwhp = exxon valdez.
Something to be aware of you are thinking about going this route which I don't recommend! I put a turbo heat blanket on the exhaust side of the turbo to keep temps down, well after I noticed the thing pissing oil I took off the blanket. I could see material flaking from the exhaust housing talk about cheap. Not that I didn't know this going in, just wanted to see how long it would last!
Next turbo is either a pt61 or pt63. haven't decided yet, but I am going in to groundzero motorsports tomorrow to discuss it with ralph and order it. The goal is a very quick, 450 rwhp 7 with excellent response. Anybody have experience with either of these turbos?

I can't wait to pull the turbo apart and look at the inside. I 'll be willing to bet the inside is pretty chewed up, and after only 2,800miles!
Oh well, time to go bigger and better- the goal is longevity this time around, 6000 miles

phat, I wish you the best.... hopefully you are the lucky one and the thing will last. By the way do you have a turbo heat blanket on yours? have you noticed any material flaking off the exhaust side?
Buk, thanks for the advice in your pm. I am seriously thinking about going with the pt67 now. That way I would have a lot of room to make more power in the future.

I ordered my turbo..., ended up getting the pt66. I was hesitant getting anything larger than the pt63, but after some discussion with ralph and some very helpful board members I decided to step up to the 66. Thanks guys

yep, I just wanted something for a short period of time before I could decide what size turbo to get. I wasn't planning on the xspower turbo to decide for me 2800 miles after installing it!
Oh yeah while we are talking about xs crap, I did have the exhaust mani., wg, and turbo on my car. The wg got replaced by a tial after approx. 10 min. on the dyno, you saw what happened to the turbo, and the exhaust manifold is getting replaced tomorrow when the new pt66 is installed.
I am going to light the turbo on fire and **** on the ashes then mail it back to xspower!!! and yes I will post pics.
