Another T78 Dyno Thread..
Hey guys Just got my car Dyno tuned last weekend, my setup is basically a stockport motor with a t78, the car was only tuned for 14.5 pounds ( due to the wastegate spring) and i ended up making 347whp and 301 wtq on a mustang dyno. I had an opprotunity to get tuned by a very good tuner from new jersey, and i am pleased with the results, also does anybody have an idea of about how much power it would have read on a dynojet? i read somewhere that the difference is about 12%, but i'm not too sure. Car was tuned by Abraham Alba, here's the video:

looks like a professional shop.

all things aside, that is not a safe way to run a dyno. Especially where that fat *** guy with the rusky hat is standing. One minor problem with the tie-down and his fat *** will shrink real quick when the car flattens him against the lift post. IMO there shouldnt be anyone within 15ft of a dyno run except the person pressing on the gas pedal.

i figured the tuner told me he kept it pretty conservative, but the car feels great on the road so i'm happy with it for now, they're just numbers, it could really read anything depending on how it's set up. so i'm not too worried about it.

Is it just me or does any one else hear the breakup on the top end? Suprised not reflected on the dyno grap.
350@ 1 bar does seem low for that turbo, but stock ports are limiting

LOL yeah man right after the tune i raced a turbocharged 2005 mustang GT that was running about 6 lbs of boost, and i put bus lengths on him, lol i ran into him a couple of days ago and he was complimenting me on how fast my car was.

I thought the same thing! @ 9-10seconds it sounds like it breaks up but it might be distorted sound as well.

yeah well me and islander were there in person and the car sounded clean with every pull he did, believe me if it was breaking up the tuner would have told me and we definately would have not have been questioning it. Only reason he stopped the tune where it was at was because of the wastegate spring and he could not turn up the boost anymore.

I can bare witness to the 'pullage' his tune consists of. That dyno must have read very very low. Tune held up well on the Dragon.
...Thanks B, the M3 is scared to come out of the garage now

Hahaha, this statement is so true. I love telling people I have a low horsepower number then skull drag them when it comes down to race. As long as the car runs well and the power band is there, I'm happy...I got over chasing horsepower numbers a while ago.

Mustang dyno's are known as heart breakers, now you know why ahhaa. Just use a dyno for tuning purposes, they all show different numbers like stated above. As long as the tune is correct, you're good to go!

OOH.. this thread has gotten me all excited!
I've got a T78 I need to get up and running. Problem is I am a little low on funding at the moment and still need to get a PFC and intercooler. I was thinking of running a cheaper M-spec, or god-speed FMIC with it so I can get the project moving faster. anybody with t-78's been successful with cheaper inter cooler options?
I see it as the item I may be able to save a little money on and spend towards engine management and gauges instead.
any input?
