Yes, but that's a comparison between their old Race Cover and the New Race Cover. I'm talking about a 80 WHP gain from the Stock Cover and their new Race Cover. Specifically the S475.

It was the cheap one (S475) with our race cover on it. The race cover seems to make 80whp difference on most of the apps we have put it on. I took the standard cover off my Supra and our new race cover spooled alot faster over the standard cover.

That doesn't seem too far fetched. The inlet has a bit of a velocity stack vs the straight inlet of the stock cover. I have heard some people gain substantial amounts of HP from just running an air filter. I guess it directs the flow and reduces turbulence?

Even a 20rwhp gain is impressive.

The new race cover has a 5" inlet instead of the 5.5" that you have.

Basically move more air with less compression, which equals less heat, so more charge density.

We picked up roughly 60hp (just under) just from switching covers on a large frame (T6) (76mm) turbo, so I believe HP can be made. The question is at what psi,(Enzo kinda hinted at it.) and switching from what size cover to what cover? There is room to make power in the inlet as well as size A/r. I've been trying to get ernie to put a larger comp cover on his for a while now.

Most places sell the cover for $299, you might be able to find a deal though.

Do a search...it was done by the guys that built my unit. They might still offer a race cover upgrade to the GT42's.

you're only going to gain a bunch of power if your original compressor housing was mismatched to your setup in the first place. There's no proverbial silver bullet.
