60-1 vs to4s, which is better
#3
From what I gather from Ted and everyone else, the 60-1 is better if you want to boost in the 8-18 range and the T04S is better in the 16-26 range. Is that right?
When selecting a compressor, you need to select the one that operates in its primary efficiency range at the boost levels you are producing. If it is pushing too much or too little air, it will retain more heat in the compressor and your intake temps will increase. Primary efficiency means that within that range the compressor is moving the right amount of air to keep itself the coolest, more or less, I know it is more complicated...
When selecting a turbine, you need to select the housing that will allow good flow up to the amount of rpm you want to run. Too big and you will have more lag and not be making use of what it is capable of. Too small and yes you will spool quick but then it will die out before you redline because at that amount of flow the turbine cannot flow any more air so it becomes a bottleneck. I'm pretty sure that P-trim is a pretty standard wheel for 7's.

...But to answer your question, the T04S is capable of producing more power. My statement is directed towards the question 'what turbo will be the best for the levels of power you want to produce'. FD's are capable of the boost levels that will make a T04S happy, while the 60-1 is the ultimate FC turbo.
