Question 60-1 on a T04S?

Anyone ever run a 60-1 or 62-1 compressor on a T04S turbine?

That didn't make any sense.
"T04S" (or T04S04) describes a compressor section already.&nbsp You're trying to replace one compressor section on another compressor section?

Turbine sections are described by family, turbine A/R, and turbine trim.

I was under the impression that the T04e and T04s were 2 totally different turbos, not that they have the same exhaust side and different compressor side. Am I wrong?

Everything I have read said that the 60-1 had the turbine of a T04e and the 60-1 compressor.

When i asked what the specs of my turbo were, I was told it is a T04s turbine and TA51 compressor.

Is this not the case? Does every T04 have the same turbine housing, the only differences being that of the a/r ratios?

If so, then I have a T04 1.15 divided turbine with a P-trim wheel. Since these are the same specs as what I want to get for the 60-1, would all I really be doing is swapping the compressor? So the reason my turbo takes so long to spool is because of the compressor only?

How much functional difference would there be between a 1.0 and a 1.15 divided turbine a/r on a street ported motor?

It depends who you talk to...

Turbonetics puts their 60-1 into the T04B family.
Innovative (and others) put the 60-1 into the T04E family.
These are all still T04 family turbos and basically the same turbine sections.&nbsp Anyone claim otherwise?

Turbine sections are usually described by A/R and turbine trim.&nbsp Popular turbine trims are O, P, and Q-trim turbine wheels.

1.00 A/R versus 1.15A/R is pretty small.&nbsp You're talking a power shift of maybe 500RPM at the most.

OK then, with a 60-1, on a street port, I guess the question I should ask is which divided a/r ratio will spool the earliest but still pull solid till 8000 rpm or so? The smallest that will get the job done would seem to be the best for a wide powerband. ???

You're asking for your cake and eat it too?

That's the magical question on everyone's mind, and no one is willing to tell through their experience.&nbsp 8kRPM is pretty damn high (over stock FC turbo redline), but you got the Haltech, right?

I'd go at least 1.15 if not the higher 1.32 A/R with the divided system.

I'll just stick with the 1.15 then... It has mucho power all the way up to redline.

Talking about what you've done and what works and no is for the betterment of all RX7 enthusiasts, more quality seat time for less headache and $$$
