well thats going to depend on you, Garett is a great brand but it is still dependent on you, take care of it and your engine and it should last. but on the same token i just had to rebuild mine after 10k, i would recommend going with the journal bearing, i notice no real difference from the ball bearing, but thats just me, also it cost half the price to rebuild if you need it.

I was going to get the 74, but after speaking to someone on this forum, I went with the 76 because I felt it was best suited for my application, which is drag.
I've heard good things about the 74 but can't elaborate because I don't have first hand experience, but i can tell you that I LOVE my 76. Top end for DAYS..... It all depends on what you want... I high HP Street or strip car or a street and auto x car. AT some point it's going to become one or the other.
I hit full boost in the 4000+ish range with the 76GTS, the 74 would obviously spool a little faster.
What I also liked about some of the Precision turbos are that they are almost identical in size. I had the precision GT4067 which is now the pt6776(Great turbo BTW), swap in the pt76 with minor mods.
BTW: those two other turbos are great turbos too. They'll get you where you want to go.

I would go with the SC366. It's a very nice street turbo. You're capable of making 600whp and the Borg Warner turbos are extremely durable. I had the Borg Warner SC362 and now have a 42r. I we're talking double the cost with the 42r. Oh by the way, I just started up my new 42r last week and it was DUMPING oil out the turbine housing (dripping twice a second) and a slight drain from behind the compressor wheel. If they don't offer a free rebuild you'll be seeing a new thread from me...

A street port will net approx. 70rwhp less. Yes it requres an oil restricter. I have had NO problems what so ever with my GT42R. Only reason I bought a new cartridge is when I blew a motor an apex seal chipped a wheel. And I don't like to half *** things so I just brought a brand new one. So you get a $2200 turbo for half price. Nothing will touch it.

FYI,
I made 641rwhp @ 20lbs of boost. Not many turbo's can do that.
was that on q116 or pump gas?

I think the BorgWarner S372 and up turbos are becoming popular too. And there are some Holset(sp?) turbos out there making big power. I think someone on the forum has one making big power too.
