What octane gas and ignition timing were you running??

Last night a friend of mine , with FD , and :

3mm seals , street porting , t-76 turbonetics ,( i dont remember the hot side a/r ) motec ecu ....etc , he made
457 at the wheels(on the dyno ) ,with 19 psi , 10.8 approximatly a/f ratio , and c-16 race fuel .

What do you think guys , about these numbers ???

i've got a t-78 kit and love it. my motor is an atkins extreme street port with 3mm seals. i put down 439 on rx7store's dyno, 16psi and 93 octane. timing is very conservative and there's points in my fuel map that hit in the 9's on a/f ratio

399rwhp@15psi(3rd gear pull, maybe extra 15-20 more in 4th)is what I made with large street port and t-78. Everyone that uses rx7 stores dyno seem to make more power than normal.

Only 399rwhp with a T78 at 15psi that's low, if it's a greddy turbo.

Im hoping for 450rwhp at 15 psi with the baby brother turbo. the TD06H-25G. It will be dynoed on saturday, so il give u guys a sound then of how much it was.

The engine have 3mm hurley and a large streetport.

It's a standalone ECU, the new Haltech E6X

Hi Jantore! Where are you gonna dyno your car, Flissundet? Your engine has Tor or "Totte" built it for you? I'm gonna dyno a T-2 on Monday on a Rototest wheel dyno, it has a To4E w/1.15 housing and a good streetport also an Autronic stand alone with 4 1600 cc injectors! Shall be interesting to see the numbers. How much boost are you planning to use? Fuel? Anyway good luck!

Hello Lasse, yes "Totte" built my engine. Im going to use 98 octane, since we don't have 100 octane(damn Germans). And race fuel is to expensive. It will only be running 1600ccc secondarys. And 550 pri.

But i think it will be nice. Here is a smal movie of the car idling.

The car will be mapped on the road, and will be fine tuned on a dyno.

Looking forward to Saturday when Bilsport dragrace event is at Tullinge Raceway! I hope to see 2 or 3 fast FDs. One has already a best ET of 11.53s at 190 km/h

Sevinin7, it is a Q trim(so it's like at least a size up in flow compared to a P trim, a tiny bit smaller than Chris Roths 67mm .84 Q trim. He made 467@19psi, I am hoping for a little faster spool than Chris , and 450@25psi. I am actually going to experiment with a .68 p trim PT67 for autocross as well. The goal there would be 15psi@ ~2500-2800rpm, so like ~350 instantly, no top end needed. Anyway, I will be playing with many different turbos, my hope is to build a Data Base for everyone that compares different turbos at the same psi on the same motor. I may even organize it to where we pull together five or eight turbos, get a dyno, and Steve Kan for a day or two. That of course would require a group effort, but I think it would be worth it for everyone that helped out, as well as getting a little assistance from the hoardes trying to decide what turbo to buy. Carl

350 what? rwhp? your not going to make 350rwhp at 2800rpms. That would require 656rwtq at 2800rpms. Maybe your talking about 350rwtq but at 2800rpms thats still only 186rwhp so still not much power.

A rotary has to have rpm's to make decent hp

I think your numbers are as screwy as mine , I meant torque, I meant 3500 not 2500, maybe I should not post until I've had more coffee LOL. Anyway, it's just a goal, we'll see what we can do. Point really is, there are alot of options out there that few have tried, because of the stereotypes of "that's too big, or that's too small" And for the most part when they get tried, it's by someone with a less than optimum set-up, or tuning. Probably best to keep my experiments to myself until they are actually done. Regards, Carl

we played with that at atp last time, in 3rd they get a little more hp in 4th they get a little more tork. apparently the slower revving in 4th builds boost faster, but also heats up the intercooler.

next time we dyno with a bag of ice

Quick Reply: 460 rwhp at 17psi ( 1.15 bar ) TURBO ????
