Beat is alive! The Rx-7 did 458.hp@20psi on E85 yesterday. I will be loading the vids and dyno sheet today. Make sure you turn you speakers down b/c I will not be liable for any speaker damage. Frank @ World Wide Racing, Miami Fl is the BEST tuner. Yirot @ John Deer, I can not thank you enough for your engineering and fabrication.

What turbo do you have? At 20psi I would have thought you'd be making much more power than that. I made 454 at 18psi with my T78 on a Dynojet.

I'm streetported as well, but only 3inch exhaust.

Yes I have a small wheel on the compressor side of the turbo, I will be changing the turbo soon to the BORG Warner s400 trim turbo in 6 months. My compressor wheel is smaller than your t78 turbo, hence you make more power with less boost. I purchased the current turbo 6 years ago and had no clue on what I was doning. I can assure you that my turbo knowledge has do 180 degree since 2004. I really greatful to have the car running good now and running efficently. The thing pulls like a F18 Fighter.

Note that the compressor is very wide but not very tall. This turbo is ideal for high pressure ratio requirements but does not deliver any volume of air. In short, high pressure + low volume= requires more boost to make the same amout of power as your T78.

Went for a cruise on friday. The car is freaking running like a bat out of hell. The boost comes on quick and with the 275/35/18 in the back, second and third gear break loose when my cousin punched it. It's was awesome! I cant drive it yet b/c I broke my ankle in motorcycle accident on 1-18-10. so I was only the copilot guys. Can't wait to drive that beast. My cusin changed the interior to black. I will have photos shortly.

I like it a lot, i just got done building my 3.5 inch exhaust and i thought that was massive lol. The only thing tho is all that nasty piping and then that baby turbo hiding behind everything .

I did read tho and i know ur getting a bigger one so i figured id throw some jabs before that thing is making some serious power.
Nice build

excuse me if its been talked about but whats the deal with your water pump/assembly? i like it, looks very clean! is that a custom job or are you running a different water pump from another motor? more pics please!

edit: did u just grind off the top portion where the air pump usually mounts too? whered u get the flange to replace the coolant filler neck?

I cut the air pump top bracket off with the waterjet, pluged the heater core feed and return bungs, then polished the hell out of it. I got the flange for the filler neck by cuting it off the factory mazda neck, then I weld a plate to the side where I cut off the original flange. Next I drilled a 1.5" hole into the plate and welded the 1.5" tubing to the flat plate on the flange.

A little off topic about your car but who made the GTC Replica front bumper? It looks like a fairly good fit for a replica.

Thank you!
