4" Complete Exhaust System Build
Hello Board. I would like to inform you that in the coming two weeks I have an engineering firm produce a custom 4" Exhaust System for my FD3S. The firm has provided me with photos of an exhaust system that was designed for an EVO using 3" Stainless Steel + V-bans. The construction look to be first class and I thought I would share my experience. This will be my 3rd and final attempt so I'm go for 4" system. Here are some photos of the EVO's exhaust. I will ask them to make a jig so that if anyone want to go this route. Please let me know what you guy think.

those pics are of an evo, he stated that.
for such a well designed product i find it odd they couldnt prevent the tip from hitting the bumper, thats relatively easy to fix from an "engineering" standpoint.

I ended up going with an Apex'i GT spec for the rear section (which UPS dented because they're incompetent idiots), and ordered one of the Active Tailpipe Silencers (which I'm still waiting on).

So it's bigger. Does that necessarily mean it's better? I'd have to see before and after dyno results versus a 3 in. system to be convinced there's any significant difference. The dynamics of exhaust flow can be tricky.

People dont do it for more HP but for quicker spool of the turbo...

Pressure differential. Its going to make a world of difference.

I knew it was going to be one of those strange deep cores. I forget who did the testing but they concluded that any core longer than 18" doesn't yield much more heat exchange. They also found that cores thicker than 3.5" was the same story. I'm not sure if they figured any figures with multiple cores but I'm sure that will make a difference.
Also, in reference to the "jig" to be made. Every turbo kit is going to need to have a different downpipe route. Unless you're going to market these for the factory twins I see easy fitment issues.
