4" or 5" VBand Clamp?

Hey my VBand Clamp is worn out so I need a new one. Now my downpipe is 4" and I have a GT42R turbo also. Both have the VBand Flanges welded on already but I need a new clamp because mine is warped. So would I get a 4" or 5" vband clamp because the ACTUAL Vband clamp that is on there right now is much larger than 5". Also Jegs and Summit don't carry them that large so where would I buy it from?

Thanks,
Phil

If you have a 4" downpipe wouldn't your v-band flange be 4" as well? If you don't know, go measure.

Yea, you are right. I guess what I was trying to say is this: Does a 4" VBand Clamp KIT COME with a 4" VBand clamp OR a much larger vband clamp that works with a 4" vband kit?

A kit means it comes with a two flanges and a v band clamp. You just need the clamp. Try www.youngsperformance.com GREAT PRICES! They're my secret

bring your old clamp (assuming it's the right size) to a truck repair shop, as posted above.

Expect to pay around $30, and they'll have it in stock.

if you need a new flange those are about ten bucks.

I had a hard time finding the V-Band flange for my turbo, turns out I needed a "FLARED" tube flange!!

Anyways, back to the topic; while I was looking for the flange, I found this website:

http://www.clampco.com/techspec/how%...s%20v-band.asp

I tells you how to measure your flange

Phil, do some simple measuring and buy your clamp from http://www.airflo.com/ . My 5 inch clamp was $12

Here is the measuring diagrams they sent me.

Yea, I found one at the Freightliner truck shop in Troy, IL for $8. It turned out to be a 5" clamp. Good thread with good info. This should be in the FAQs or stickied.
Thanks,
Phil
