20psi? Should I or shouldn't I?
Right now im running about 15psi without any prolbems. I my fastest time with this was an 11.81 so far with little practice at the strip in 85deg weather. There is an import event coming up at Maple Grove in two weeks and I was thinking of cranking her up to around 20psi. I just got my wideband for tuning. Should I risk it or not? Any recommendations where I should have my timing? Right now its at 17degs. I was thinking of setting it at about 12 for 20psi, will this be safe? I would really like to see some real low 11's
Thanks for any input.

would it be better to have it timing vs load, or timing vs rpms?

damn dude, that is some serious gear slammin, 11.81 @ 115! I only managed a 12.2 @ 114 this weekend, abeit it was my first time @ the track.
I also have a 10.99 goal for this season. Tuning + new large street ported engine here this week (fingers crossed) + more boost and I should make it!

But timing versus load would be safer - how do you tell a 7,000RPM decel versus 7,000 @ 20psi?

lemme try that again. my timing at 3500 rpms and 10psi is like 5btdc (not actual #s) at 10psi and 7k rpms its more like 12degrees. should i have it at say 12degrees at 10 psi from 3500-7000rpms? or should it slowly advace with rpms?

BTW: My reasoning for this is your highest potential detonation point is at peak torque, ie that is why you see everyone blowing their engines @ mid rpm ranges (5 - 6k) and not from over-revving, etc.
Once you cross the peak torque rpm and are beyond the most likely detonation point you can gradually begin increasing timing...there are significant power gains available by doing this v/s a flat timing setup.
