Weird question..... Since your running nearly the same boost, traps, & times as you did with the twins but in hotter weather, do you notice a differance in your intake temps. I'm just trying to see if the single doesn't heat up the air as much as the twins do.

umm when i hit the lotto. i don't have the funding to build another car or even buy another FD. what video's ???

right now i am trying my hand at drifting with the 240sx. the motor setup ran 12.8 in my old car. it should be running around 11's right now since we fixed a few problems. anyway still congrats to boostn7. he does what i never could. get his car to run without blowing and running really fast

I'm running a bit less boost with the single and yes air temps have dropped....knock #'s are much lower.

The highest traps with the twins was ~98mph in the 1/8th and 125mph in the 1/4 running close to 19psi in colder weather.
With the single....I trapped close to 127mph and 103mph in the 1/8th !!! in warmer weather so it is making more power with richer A/Fs(10.6-10.8)....still tunning the beast.
I'll assure you it will be @ 130mph soon on pump gas

Later,

WOW thx for the reply. You just really made me realize how terribly inefficiant the twins are at really high boost levels. Even with the twins making high boost in colder weather, they still heated the air alot more than the single did in warmer weather. Hell no wonder everyone says go single.

Great times boostn7

What rpm do you launch at and do you have any kind of anti-lag

Terribly inefficient !!!! NOT at ALL......I actually miss their mid range punch
I never said they heated the air alot more !!!! difference was small.
Up to 16 psi they're awesome, higher boost they made more power but gains were less as the boost went up.

Remember, I traped 124-125mph many times with the twins in a 2920 lb car...do the math....making easily over 420rwh.....so they flowed quite well (non-seq) for their size.
With the single I added the fuel mostly at higher rpm....and not as much I expected to add.
Engine does breath better.

Atually my T63 is a small turbo compared to what many use.

Well I didn't mean to mis-inform anyone with this comparison. I was just supprised that the twins still heated the air more in colder weather than the single did in warmer weather(though it was minimal). That was my point sorry.

Are you using 4.33 gears? If yes how long have you had them?

I was never able to do any better than 11.70 on stock twins and stock ports. (Never ran more than 15 psi.) Probably should have bumped it up to 16 or 17psi and perhaps would have made a 11.5 pass...

I am going to make it into the 10's also. I think my car is just about ready to make the 10 second pass, but I may need to change my stock gears to 4.33's.

Any thoughts or advice....

You got to love the T-63!
I told you some time back that I'll never run anything bigger than that for a street car up to 20psi!
BTW. Which compressor housing are you using on the 63?

Yo Chris !!!
How's everything??

Yes the T63 is nice...been messing with 2 different turbos to see which will work best on pump gas(less then 20psi).
I'm running the big truck housing .55A/R, 3" in and 2.5 out from Precision few years back.

fastrx7man: With hp near the 450rwh it could be done with the 4.10 gears.....not much of a difference between both......Good Luck!

red 7:...I simply roast the Nittos with 2nd gear burnouts and then launch between 4.5-5krpm and no anti-lag...yet !!!
The PowerFC does offer it but have yet to use it.

There's a bigger housing also 4" in and 3" out for that turbo.

john, how long have you had your nittos? Have the softness gone away yet? I've noticed after a year they start to get hard...

Gargamel: Nittos are about 1.5 years old.....used to drive on them daily but when the threads started disapearing I throw them on only when going to the track. Right now they look like slicks!!!!!

FYI: Just went to the track last night and AGAIN I have bettered my 60ft to an awesome 1.52 !!!!!(honestly). Will scan the slip for the non-believers.

Due to lack of a rollcage I lifted/braked after the 1/8th and still ran a best of 11.4 @ 95mph after running 103.x mph in the 1/8th.

How are you launching it? Do you take it to 4-5k and drop it or do you slip the clutch?

BTW those are some great times.
