If we know what "frame" turbo you are refering too then it would make some more sence.
A 1.22 a/r is available in the Garrett T51 range = fairly large.
A 1.22 a/r in a T51 is bigger than a 1.52 in a TO4 series turbo.
If you make a nice manifold a 1.22 is not to big, but if you want boost at idle then you are looking at the wrong turbo anyway. 1.22 is nice a few people run a 1.05 (still bigger than 1.32 in a TO4) and get good boost by 3500rpm on a street port with a decent manifold.
1.22 on a street port will give you a "strong" power band from 6k to 9k on a street port 13B engine.

I run a 1.22a/r turbine on a TA51 turbo (I just found out that my compressor is actually larger than a TA51 with the 76mm wheel!!) on a halfbridged motor , boost builds rather quickly from 4000rpm up and the top end is scary at only 15psi boost.
