HKS T04R specs etc
I'm going to have a local turbo guy build me a turbo shortly. Who knows where I can get specs from the HKS TO4R, TO4S and other turbos capable of producing well over 300rwhp at about 10 psi.
I already got a price quote and whatnot, but I want to compare specs to the one he will be building. But I also might want to duplicate the specs of say the T04R or S.
Thanks guys.

Chopped Liver,
There are tons of turbos that can get you 300whp at around 10psi.
To4B 60-1
To4E 60-1
Lots of FC guys use those.
To4E "60" Trim is another one.
You can find info on those on the turbonetics website.
Most of those turbo's can be found pretty cheap.
Now, I'm not 100% certain, but I think the main difference between the T04S and R is the A/R of the turbine, and maybe the compressor...

chopped liver...lol Evil
Reason I ask is A buddy of mine just got the T04R kit and i saw it lastnight. It is so sweet...BUT I dont have the cash for it. I would like to get one built by MY local turbo guy to its spec.

i wouldn't bother with a t04r if you are only shooting for 10psi. It will feel pretty flat with the boost that low, these turbos only start working around 14 psi and really get going at 18psi and upwards.
If you don't want to run anymore than 10 pound you may as well stick with the standard turbos in my opinion!
by the way there is no reason not to run more boost on a stocko engine as long as you've got enough fuel to match! go the t04r and run 14psi street, or more with water injection and a good tuner. This should be good for 11 sec 1/4's and 400+rwhp.

Go with a T04B 60-1 or T04e 60 trim compressor wheel. Go with a .7 A/R T04s compressor housing or for slightly quicker, linear response go with a .6 A/R T04e compressor housing. On the hot side get a P-trim turbine wheel and if you want to go cheap on the manifold get a $250 cast and match that with a .96 non divided turbine housing, or if you want fatser spool AND better top end (slightly on both) get a more expensive divided manifold and a 1.00 A/R divided turbine housing. If you want really fast boost response get a .84 divided housing. ALWAYS get a water cooled center section for a street car and make sure your going with a 360 thrust and dynamic seal. If your running a draw threw carb (turbo ingest air and fuel) go with a carbon seal instead of dynamic. With either of these combos you can make close to or more (depends on motor, set up etc.) 400 whp @ 15-18 psi or well over 300 whp @ 10-12 psi. You have a car potientually being able to run 11's and EXCELLENT boost response and streetability.
The T04R from what I have gathered from various post, is close to a T66 compressor with a Q-trim turbine. That turbo is capable of huge hp numbers (500+) and although some tolerate it, its a laggy street turbo and to get full potentual out of it should be run up 18+ psi and will require race gas and/or water injection. Also the supporting mods for running this kind of power is expensive and excessive for a street car (BIG pumps, big fuel lines, motor pinning, etc) For stop light races the 60-1 or 60 trim turbo will spank the to4r and be a hella lot more streetable and comfortable day to day driving, on the other hand,, the t04r will hand you your *** on the interstate if you both start from a 50-70 mph roll. Quarter mile times will be close with the T04r ahead.. if its a T04r equipt car properly set up for drag with correct wheel, gear ratio, tranny etc., look out.

Can someone explain the diff between divided housings and non-divided? A pic of each would be ideal. I'm a visual type of person
Also the diff's between trims? ie o trim ptrim q trim. maybe a link to a site that explains trims?

hondah8er, check the for sale section as BIGMACK or Joel has a new T04E with a 1.00 divided housing. Perfect for what You are looking for. Then contact South Florida Perfomance or another builder like Resource for a mani,DP, WG, and the rest of the stuff for much cheaper then the breand name stuff. Plus the divided housing will help the turbo spool quicker. Check Nopistons.com for turbo terminlogy. If Your car is ported a .84 will choke out the top end.

For manifold I'm looking at the HKS cast iron. Its reasonably priced at around $250US. I doubt I can find it cheaper than that or a custom built for that price cuz i've looked.
