Disagree, I love it
It's pretty tough to introduce a completely new revolutionary design in 2017 that's simultaneously appealing *and* groundbreaking.
I'm a fan. The small hatchback looks awesome as well---Mazda seems to be 100% headed in the right direction.
Compare this to the debacle that the next Supra is fast becoming......

I like the little hatch!
On the 4 door coupe the only parts I like are the parts carried over from the Vision.
I don't like the overbite hood/***** emblem or the recessed tail light area mirrored by the swollen then recessed tail pipe area and the rear deck is too droopy side to side which looks weak to me.

The NSX flopped? It's hardly even been available... Not to mention every person I've heard talk about driving it is just in love with it.

Trust me, I truly would love to see another rotary sports car with upgraded technology applied as much as anyone, and Mazda would put the world on its proverbial a$$ especially if it came out with two new rotary platforms--imagine a 2-rotor RX Vision and 3-rotor Cosmo. What gives me pause, however, is the fact that the theoretical new engine--a 16x--is not being developed in any racing program Mazda is involved in throughout the world. If Mazda is intent on bringing on two new, high-performance rotaries by 2019 (or 2020 take your pick), then you would expect to see development engines in race cars being slogged hard through hours and hours of race conditions. It is through race development that the tolerances, durability and strength of components and systems are sorted out. The last two serious race engines for Mazda have been cylinder jobs. Case in point, the FD pretty much came out of Mazda's Le Mans efforts of the late-1980s/early-1990s. Putting an engine into production straight out of R&D just seems unlikely to me. But, we can keep hoping.

I hate to be a Debbie-downer, but with all of the strict emission laws coming into play (which is one of those things I am starting to feel strongly about but this is not a climate change thread) I seriously doubt we will ever see another rotary engine on the streets.
Prove me wrong...

I'm hearing now that Fujiwara is saying that they're out of time and money to release a new rotary powered vehicle before their 2020 centenary. All resources have been consumed bringing SkyActiv-X to market. Makes sense to me, even though it's not the news I want to hear. The further they delay, the less sense it makes to develop it with the 2030 electrification push most countries seem to be aiming for. The future sucks, I wanna go back to the 80s...

www.blipshift.com makes and sells automotive t-shirts. The design is available for purchase for 24 hours before getting rotated out for a new one. They DO repeat patterns though, so if you check their website you can sign up to (potentially) get warning when it comes up again.
I bought two when that pattern was initially offered, one for me and one for the wife
*edit* It looks like it's actually available to purchase right now. Blipshift must have changed their setup because they've got several available atm: https://www.blipshift.com/products/close-encounter-iii

Matt Farrah mentioned that was due to NSX buyers wanting to spec their own so the reality is that nobody wants a dealer model rather than nobody wants an NSX. I don't know how true that is but it makes sense. According to wikipedia the first one only produced about 18000 over the 15year run. I doubt the new one will go for 15 years but I'd be very surprised if they can't match that yearly average by the end.
