Zack from Newfoundland Canada
Hello every one, I'm 20 years old and have been looking into getting my first project car. Was looking for something simple to work on that I could have fun with a do all the work my self. I have always thought rotary's to be very fascinating so when my brother picked up a 1985 gsl-se I drove it and fell in love. So I went on the hunt for a first gen in my province (very hard to find). After only a few months a 1984 gsl came on my local classifieds. $1500 with little rust(NL is notorious for rust) So I picked it up! Far from mint but its a good place to start.

Thanks guys, plan for now is to address the big problems, Car has no exhaust , needs clutch slave cylinder and has a hole in the floor, seems to have rusted inside out from what i believe to be from a sunroof that leaked at some point. wish me luck hopefully when i get it moving the breaks and rear end are in working order!

Hey Zack, Welcome!
How's the car coming along? I'm in S'ville. I got an 84 GS and one donor GSL. Hit me up if you need any parts or help with your rex. The floor in my gsl is in pretty good shape.

Update after 2 years
Needless to say. When first getting the rx7 I was nieve to think I could do all the work in my father's drive way. So I done a bit of work with the car then it sat. I started a new job where I was at sea 75% of the time for over a year. Now with a good schedule . My own house and my own garage . I start the rx7 once again. The car filled with water while sitting sadly . So interior is stripped . The engine needs work and the floor pan is worst then previously thought.
So the big plan change . With such a small rotary following locally here . I decided to go the swap route . The car will never be mint agian and this seems like the most fun. Any way heres pictures
The rx7 in her new home
Out with the old
12a for sale in NL aka sit in my shed forever
Engine bay stripped ready to be cleaned up .
Struts are out , all will be replaced new . Kyb struts and rb springs are in the mail. Along with all new bushings for the front end
Its bad. Luckily a good friend of mine is good with a wielder and has done lots of floor work . So where hoping to patch this up

A little update if any one is watching. All my suspension is removed and the rest of my front end parts are in. So I will be full steam ahead on the front end when I get home from work end of this month. More importantly I got my engine and transmission . Also got a intake manifold holley carb and some shorty headers locally for a good price

I understand the rotary love . My brother has a gsl-se and i love it just tryin to get parts in my area. My 12a is High milage and sitting for years. The condition of my car is prime candiate for molosteing . Alot of fellas would of used this as a parts car but I bought it as a hobby/project . Thanks for the luck even tho I'm a traitor!
