Rear scoops worked awesome. Time for a re-work to make them lighter and better looking. Still looking for a rear fender solution before I give it an honest paint job.
It was wet out and I dove into the corner like it was dry. Locked the rears up under braking and she snapped out. Not enough time to catch it so off we went. The left rear caught soft dirt and sent me into barrel roll ending on some large rocks.
The car is, surprisingly, relatively unscathed. I knew I was overbuilding the safety gear, but this proves it.
The hood closes fine, we just had it open to run chains to the frame to yank me out of the woods. She fired right up with no leaks and we started going up the road to turn around before two of the tires decided they didn't want to play along.
Make 2 sets of tie rods.. I'll buy a set from you. That is the last stock piece on my suspension.
How willing are you to drill out the tapers in the stock toe arm mount positions? I'd rather use a larger heim and bolt than the tapers allow.
I'm looking at Aurora heims with a static load strength of 23,310lbs. Three times the rating of what was on it. Lower breakaway force as well, so it won't effect movement rates as much. They're not cheap, around $95 each heim.
While the Hillclimb car is down, the LeMons RX7 made it's debut.
Good prep meant all we had to do when we got to the track was sticker it up. We had some fun.
We had zero mechanical issues, though 3rd gear was getting a little crunchy on day 2. We finished with 635 miles of racing on the clock and it drove itself onto the trailer. Pretty pleased overall.
In other news, the Hillclimb car will be getting a turbo this offseason in the name of DB levels and packaging. More power will be a side effect.
Goal is 300whp, which should be really easy. Stay tuned for custom manifold building and turbo selection, as well as to tell me I'm wrong with my choices!
****'s about to get real wirey with the EFI conversion too.
