woah woah woah. you guys are waayy too ahead of yourselves. It's much more complicated to replicate a part the right way than you guys think. It takes time. That's why no one in the industry does it right.

I have to update the deposited list but here are progress pics. The original diffuser was cracked, busted, and extremely wavy. We have to apply bondo to straighten out the surface.

Here's what it looks like after a coat of primer.

We still need to sand the part and buff it out to a class A finish, which takes time.

All these steps are necessary before the mold is even made. So no part yet guys.

SHINE = Quality! Hey Ken thanks again, I mailed ya the full amt-I'm in no hurry though, please take your time. Make mine regular, I'm leaning towards a Rhino lining or Line X coating. -Matt

Hey Shine, Now that you have the read diffuser can you tell me if it will fit if I have the mudflaps?

wptrx7 04-20-07 11:47 AM

It does not fit, you have to modify the diffuser to make it fit.

Just use a drimmel, shave a little off till you have enough clearance. Remember, small cuts, you can always take more off, you can't put any back.

thanks. just to clarify, am i shaving it down THINNER, or actually cutting away the sections behind the mud guards? if so would it make sense to install the diffuser, draw a line where the mud guards meet up, and then cut the diffuser on that line?
thanks :)

shineautoproject 04-25-07 02:11 PM

Mold is done. The first part should be made by tomorrow :)

I apologize if my responses seem to take longer than usual, but our company is currently more busy than it has ever been, which is good in some sense. I am forced to find ways to manage it better to improve flow and stay consistent. Consistency is a word I take seriously in this company and I try to instill that within my co-workers.

Hey guys,

We've already made one part. I'm getting me FD back from the paint shop soon. It was painted yesterday. Then I can do a test fitment. I might go to the shop just to test fit the difffuser. Everything should be good to go.

We're going to make 10 FRP ones first to fulfill the demand. Then we're going to figure out how to do the CF one.

The CF one is difficult because it cannot be handlaid. It is too difficult...at least to make a nice looking one handlaid. We have to vacuum infuse it, which requires us to add additional instruments to the mold etc....
