Well, ****. Put in a good word for me, will ya? I dealt with him once and got ripped off for over 400 bucks....the only time I've ever been flat-out burned in almost 10 years of RX-7 ownership. What did you buy from him anyway?

Everyone else: Don't let the guy fool you. THESE PARTS ARE FROM CHINA, not New York like he'd have you believe by reading his 'location'. Customer service is non existent, and the quality of the parts is flimsy eBay crap.

EDIT: I am NOT talking about Shine Auto Project. They have always provided top-notch parts for us. EVO-R is just the kind of guy to put up pics and begin a list for a group-buy in some other vendor's subforum though, huh?

I rest my case.

I thought the list of us interested interested in a group buy was for the Shine version.

That's what I thought. I decided to save my money for BBK or coilovers..I figure by the time this is said and done, I'll have money saved up again.

nothing against FD3S777, but I've heard less than stellar things about him and the first run of replica spoilers (that iirc he didn't make) so I'm just gonna hold off and wait for the guys at shine to finish theirs up. I've always been impressed by the quality of work at shine and will wait patiently.

spoke to ken. mold for center section is ready, the bases are a little more tricky.. he wants to make sure they'll stand up to high speeds using a top notch fastener. since the t-screw tends to become loose in frp materials(ex. Aerofiber).

so as soon as its completed im sure hell chime in, if not ill make sure to enlighten you guys with pics.

Yes, the original T screws are very weak. I had them replaced with strong ones and extra A+B type GEL adhesive all filled in. Problem with factory is that they dont clean up the screw holes after finishing the product. So you have some FRP and GEL stuff inside the screw. When customer try to screw in with all those stuff inside, that will mess up the screw thread. Then you will screw too jard then break the T bold sides. This is just an advice to all you guys. When you get anything like this make sure you clean up all the material inside the screw hole and its top surface. When putting on the screw try not to force it too hard.

Pricing will be around the $400-500 range with CF center wing. We'll just have to see when we make one .

Is this going to be a single group buy, or a regular product you guys provide?

Just a regular product. With the economy the way it is.. there is no point in fooling around with prices. If we can sell an item as a certain price... then we should always be able to sell that item at that price given every cost factor stays constant. For items made in the U.S.. I think our parts are priced very well.

the only reason why we took on this project because I was told that aerofiber was the only supplier of this spoiler and no longer supplied to community. If I had known Evo-R had this wing and was readily available the the quality was satisfactory.. I would not have taken on the project. There are other projects to take on and no point in supplying the demand if someone is already doing it. Its too late at this point. Mold is already done. I am looking to offer a good quality piece at a reasonable price range. Not looking to go into a price war as we will probably lose. I can only focus on quality , service, and speed as we know the rx7 in and out. Feel free to purchase from whomever you wish. I will let you guys know when this project is complete.

Ken,
FWIW, there were some reported quality issues w/ the aerofiber, so it's still a good thing that you're in on this now.

I already PM'd him on this issue, I thought it appropriate to keep that to PM's since aerofiber is a paying vendor.
