we tried and tried and tried for a long time. I don't even have an FC anymore. your only chance is to just get one new for yourself. FC guys are either too: cheap, broke, or don't believe in body kits. we had 3 people leave deposits last time even though dozens of people were "interested." I let Ken sit on my double deposit for months in the hopes that other people would send in theirs as promised... but no dice. deposits refunded and original kit sold.

 

Yep. The market is the market. I can't force people to buy it. I usually take deposits before we even purchase the aero kit from Japan, but since we got deposits on the sexy style for the 180sx , we were getting a discount on the FC one.

Our price and minimum quantity depends on the cost of the original kit, the cost of our molds, which we absorb in hopes of profiting from each unit sold to cover for the initial investment and hope for the best in the future sales. 15 is usually the magic number to get started.

Obviously, we had the kit for awhile and we were more than happy to take it on, but definitely not at a lost. If there's not enough demand, then there's not enough demand and I don't think it was because of the price. I don't think the FC drift market is as strong as it is in the 240 market.

-B- now has the original kit and we sold it to him at a lost. I like the sexy style kit and its a shame that we couldn't move forward with it. I would be down to do it again, but definitely AT LEAST 15 deposits in hand before we even purchase. I believe we were only asking for $150 deposit if I recall correctly.

Let's wait till -B- finishes up his car and see how it turns out. The guy has pretty good taste .

I'm up for putting a deposit down after the next drift day, which is on the 16th.

 

I have a question for the Drift guys. How much of a concern is finish quality of the part or paint job?

We have a special formula to make a bumper super flexible. However, the cloth that strengthens the part also creates slight waves in the surface finish. You won't get a show finish, but you'll get one strong as bumper. Maybe I can do a video demonstration.

I don't think its a bad trade off man, people vinyl their stuff all the time, and the keyword you said there is 'drift' haha so if they're using it for whats it for....I see no harm.

 

I guess it all depends on how gnarly the waves are.

In my personal opinion, I've never seen the original sexy style aero fit well anyways, so I'm not sure that I'd care if it was a touch wavy. I'd probably be willing to deal with it, if it made for a stronger part.

On the other hand, I know that some people have been DREAMING of getting sexy style aero for forever and a day, so might want a very nice looking kit.


My own vote is that I'd take the stronger aero over the weaker stuff.

wouldnt it be a lot cheaper if you did regular fiberglass instead of hybrid frp on the sexy style kit? even though its really strong and flexible, sooner or later its gonna gets smashed up.

thats why its so easy for the guys with bn kits. they smash em, fix em, smash em, fix em, until its done. then just get another kit for $500 shipped

if the price of the kit would be anywhere around there in regular fiberglass and your trying to market it towards drifters, i think that would definetely be the way to go. just my 2 cents

 

Honestly.
The more affordable the better...

Most of the drift cars just ziptie everything, so fitment is hit or miss.
I run zipties and brackets by the headlights, sometimes it sags, sometimes
it doesn't.

Finish & Paint?

Honestly, I don't care.
I know its going to break, rip off, get smashed up.

I would rather have an option Stateside to get replacement aero.

Instead of replacing a $2,500 full kit again.

For the people building show cars, Any body shop can work around the little work.
ShineAuto aero fits really well anyways.

Before we replicate the kit, we make sure it fits well first, so I don't forsee a big problem with fitment.

The waves a small little waves. It would be best to show with a video.

We can offer parts in regular FRP, but it won't make much a difference in price.

Currently our products are hybrid FRP and it has good enough flexibility and good finish.


However, I'm trying to introduce the Super Hybrid FRP for pretty much the same price. But obviously, the customer has to know about the finish issue. Slava, you'll be amazed how strong this bumper is.
