One thing about these sunroofs..... There is a black glue all along the perimeter where the bottom side and the top side is joined. The bottom side sits on the "inside" of the bottom side.
When pulled out of the mold, the glue looks to be part of the part as it has a black shiny finish. You can leave it as is and it will be fine. However, as soon as you pinch it... the glue will be removed. Its basically excess glue and should be removed, but in this case... if you don't fiddle with it.. it looks fine.
The excess glue is very sensitive to breaking off as it is not suppose to be there. If you want to remove it... you can pinch it off pretty easily all across the perimeter. This only pertains to the bottom side of the sunroof.

fitment is perfect. i used my old seal. but will be getting a new oem one. i used silicone gasket
sealer to help with holding the seal in place. didnt want 2 use any glue. think the new seal will
be tighter. will wait 2 see. only thing is gap between seal is slightly wider. again its origanal
seal. so will see when get new one on. it comes with thread lock nuts. though one of the
studs cracked from its glue when tightening. so i think a lock washer with a regular nut would do better. i did not put the felt cover back on. but for those who want it on double sided tape will work fine. shine your work speaks for itself. thank you.

Nah, the frame and stock roof are perfect car is original low mileage, no wrecks nothing, Ken is sending me another one so will see then.
Also spun one lock nut, bolt not connected any longer under the frame. No I didnt overtighten, nut spun right as it began touching the locking nylong 5-6 threads in, cant get it off now, will end up cutting or stripping the threads to hold it with needle nose or something, will see tomorrow.

Have you SEEN the roof of an FD ? You must own one, really be realistic, Ken is only a man hes not super human, FD's have two bubbles like a well proportioned backside of a beautiful woman, a slope inside all this and and and. Making an FD sunroof would be...well....Not fun ? I Dare say the only way this would happen is via a vacuum mold even then tough, real tough I think.

What does paint have to do with .75 inch raises in the sunroof line ? Yeah its composite but if you take your head out of your rear end for a second, even Ken will tell you there is a VAST difference in the ability to WELD bolt ends to metal and having to RESIN bolts with heads that are already thicker than the ENTIRE assembly is supposed to be inside TWO sandwiched layers of composite material, carefully and so forth. You simply ARE dealing with a product that by its nature IS thicker and more difficult to deal with, period, its actually WHY nobody makes them man.
Its not a simple push down and "make it work" procedure, I have 3 of these roofs and 3 FC's to work with.
Once the carbon one comes I will re-check everything as Ken is going to check it on their FC before they send it, it will be here probably this week so will get back to you.
You asked for information, don't spit bs back at people when not everyone IS a kid or DOESNT know jack.

A. I can see we are going to come to no understanding of each other, the fact that I have torn apart more Rx7's than I think you have seen in your life means nothing I suppose, and maybe it doesnt in relation to composites directly.
B. Heat ? Lol to the max, I am not going to put a heat gun to a 300.00 sunroof to try to make up half to 3/4 of an INCH of depth problem, your talking heat like it can re-arrange the LAWs of physics, it can help in situations with any material but not this much man.
C. you fly down to dallas and put this roof on one of my Fc's and make it fit in 3 hours I pay for your plane ticket, you dont you buy me a new roof.
Bet ?
D. Nylon nuts are what Ken sends with the roof, they are intended to lock the roof in place for safety I assume which is why he gives locking nuts, if the nuts THEY provide you should not be used and you are TELLING me that all Ken's customers should go out and buy new nuts and NOT use the nuts he gives you because its possible they bust the roof bolts loose inside their holding boxes before even getting 1/5th the way on, then we are having two conversations that are never going to agree, plain and simple.
