99 Spec Platess Bumper???

I believe I have brought this up before but I think there is a need for a nice 99 spec plateless bumper. Hopefully, one made in your flexible fiberglass. The urethane one has a sag issues, and waviness and with a flexible lip really doesn't need to be urethane. Anyway here is a thread that shows that there are some interested in one. Come on Shine we know you want to produce one.... Hey remember I was the one that told you to produce the burnout kit and look how well that went over.

At 300 I'm definitely in. Because the poly one is $403. And if its from shine I could go ahead and get burnout fenders save me some shipping.

I'd be interested and would expect more than $300 for a quality part that won't require an additional $500 in labor to make it fit right.

Thank you for reccomending the burn out kit, I'm not exactly sure if the final decision to make it was because of your recomendation or not, but thanks anyways. I love those front fenders.

YES, I am very interested in this bumper skin.

Pettit already sells a fiberglass 99-front without the plate holder....$500.

Probably not with the material that Shine uses and hopefully for a better price. Considering what he as done with other kits I would think it would also fit better.

Is the existing OEM under tray compatible, if not a plateless 99 spec under tray would be a good addition to this purchase

Thanks

Forgot where I was when I posted. If Shine can make a well-fitting flexible fiberglass bumper for less than $500, I would probably buy one. Unfortunately I need it soon so it's not going to happen.

Note: the fiberglass part.

It needs to be flexible to keep from it looking like crap after a year or so. Especially if I'm going to be running into cones in parking lots with it ....

Hey guys. For some reason, I didn't even see this thread until Fritts pointed it out.

I've read the other thread Fritts linked to and I gotta say it's pretty funny. I'll be honest, I don't mind discussing the project with you guys but we have way too many projects we have to complete in the coming months to even think about it.

One thing I do know for sure.... it ain't gonna be $300. At least not from us.

I have a few questions. Did the Rotary Extreme version come with a lip or is that a REAL 99 spec lip everyone is rocking? The lip would make the part extra complex, further increasing the cost.

Can't beat oem.

Ken, most people that i know rocking the R.E. front without the plate holder, are using the real 99 spec lower lips. It's available from Mazda, new, at only 190.00 shipped from most places. So if anything, i'd say don't even worry about the lip really, since their easily accessable. To save you time and development costs.

I agree with red. The lip being separate and being made from flexible plastic is a good thing in my mind. I know your FRP is flexible but not as much as that plastic lip is. The problem with the OEM is that it has the plate which I think kind of kills the 99 spec look. Even if it would take a while I would definetly be in on a replacement. I would hope you would at least be able to beat Pettits price of 500 with your hybrid material though. I'm sure the 300 is out of the question though. Let us know if you need a bumper to mold from or need more interest to get one going or scheduled to be made.

I'd also like to see you make the re-bar for this bumper.

The JDM ones are like $400 and (I'm sure you know what I'm talking about)

You don't need the rebar... particularly if it's plateless. You'd just have to cut the plate portion away from the '99 rebar.

You're better off just enlarging the holes in the 93-95 rebar to allow for the '99 turn signals.

Thank you very much.

I'm still learning.
