What's up with vendors not being able to sale parts?

I noticed on the ss9 website that "Mazda is allowing vendors to sell t-shirts, toys, key chains, and other NON CAR PARTS at the main event?! If you are a vendor, and want to sell anything except car parts". Haven't they been allowed to sell in the past? Why the change? Who will be selling stuff? Will parts vendors still be there to take orders, etc?

Vendors have never been allowed to sell at Sevenstock. This has been our long standing policy! This year the Sevenstock Committee and Mazda have agreed to allow limited sales by vendors. There is a huge liability exposure to the club and Mazda. If you would like to sell you must sign up through www.sevenstock.org There is a permit fee which is turned over to the City of Irvine with the appropriate paperwork. If you made prior arrangements with a vendor and have already made your payment via the web, check etc. then it's ok to pick up your item at Sevenstock. Thank you!
