I am 5 minutes south of Norman Oklahoma and I am planning on going this year, but will be hauling my brother, old man and my wife, (family of rotorheads), along with me, so I am trailering my 7. I have a buddy in houston and could stay with him and then leave with you guys whenever you want. I am glad I stumbled across this thread, It will make my first ss even better. My names Jason by the way.

I may be passing through that area so I'd definately be up for meeting. I plan on meeting these guys in Phoenix on Thursday night and driving out to Irvine Friday Morning.
On a sad note though I may be driving my Jeep and not the 7. I'm not sure if I will have the funds to get her done in time. I am going to step-up the man-whoredness for some extra funds, but I may be the mule of the group carrying the tools and such. Would I still be welcome if I brought some rotary paraphenalia such as housings, perhaps a rotor hood ornament?

Hey guys,
Just keeping in the loop. A large majority of the AZ crew (Tucson and Phoenix) usually meet on the west side of town around 8am. Myself and a couple of the other Phoenix guys will probably be leaving Thursday night late afternoon/evening. So, if there's anyone out there interested in a run through the desert that night straight through to Irvine let me know and we'll hook up in Phoenix. Otherwise, most of the rest of the guys in our crew will be leaving wicked early Friday morning.
Those of you driving along the 10 can probably meet w/the Tucson crew Thursday night as well if you don't want to head to Phoenix that night, and then leave with them in the morning sometime between 5-6am, meeting up w/the Phoenix crew as previously mentioned. Again, thats how we've done it in the past, so no guarantees to this point as to what's actually going to happen, but at least it gives you a heads up as to what we're up to!

Sounds great man, trully. I'm concerned about the temps though as I think most others would be. If I make the night trip, that'll be a LONG say for me anyway, then again, it'll be the best as far as temp goes. However, on the road @ 6:00 I'd imagine is still cool as well. Could you possibly give us an insight to your weather please? I live damn close to the coast so the temps are generally really predictable. Thanks guys.
RCCAZ - Thanks huge for the offer. Gonna be a few months trashing on the car but I'm doing everything I can to get out there. Would be the trip of a lifetime.
Has anyone given thought to in car communication? I have a set of those Motorola walkie talkies dealies, but I don't know if the channels are matched to the set or if they are generic.... hmmmm....

Okay, I am officially out for this one. For those of you who haven't heard, I quit my job here in houston and got a new one in OKC! I will starting there August 1st and won't be able to take time off that soon. I wish I could join you (Keith knows I have been wanting to do this for quite some time). There is always next year.

That's quite a bummer. I think my route will actually take me through OKC as well.
On a side note, I was the Best Man @ a wedding in the city last w/e and a few of my buds friends that I had never met I invited out for one last horrah for the guy. Car guys go in flocks and his friends are no different. One owns an Exige S & another a WRX, he actually works for Subi. This best friend now lives in Newport Beach and in talking with the other car guys, mentioned this trip, and surprisingly enough both were down for the voyage! Not so much for 7S10 as I am but to see James and crash @ his place in Newport Beach!
So it looks like there might be a few "outsiders" from Phoenix to Irvine.
Regardless so far my plans take me from CT to Nashville, scooting down the Apalachians on Tuesday. Wednesday depart Nashville and blast due west and get as close to Amarillo as possible. Thurdsay make my way to Phoenix. Friday to Irvine. Anyone along that route wanna join up?

I'll have to keep tabs on this. I drove out with my buddy in his M3 last year. He wants me to have a 7 running for the trip.... dunno if that'll happen or not but we'll see.
It'll be fun either way.

WELL GUESS WHAT......
I think that i will be going to Seven Stock..
But will not be driving the FD to Irvine, I am graduating from College in Aug (Hopefully) so i am going to buy me a new F-250 truck, and i have access to a 3 Car hauler goose neck trailer. So i think i will be bringing 3 Cars there, Phils Vert, A friends turbo FC and my FD.
Hopefully all of my plains will come together

Would anyone be interested in trying to hook up a Chuck Westbrook tuning seminar in Phoenix on the front or back end of the caravan? Or I guess we could do one in Irvine also. For that matter, we could do one for those of you coming through Houston. Similar to what Phil (herblenny) is doing in Alabama.
I'm sure we could entice him for this if we paid his flight to Phoenix and then could hook him up for a ride to Irvine.
I have access to Chuck locally, but have a buddy that lives in and runs a business in Mesa, AZ. I could ask about using his office with a presentation room for the seminar. He's a car guy also, but drives a 600+ HP Superformance AC Cobra (which we would also get a chance to see). Just a thought.

Just wondering if anyone was trying to meet up with the group from FL and needed a second driver, or passenger... I fear my project will not be done in time to make the trek in my own car as unforeseen medical bills have put a delay on my car... the engine made its way back into the bay already though so maybe I'll finish it in time; who knows...

I'm offically bowingout of the caravan. There is virtually no way that I can get the car done in time to make the voyage - Sadly. Looking into alternative ways to get there, right now Jet Blue can get me out there for about the price of 2.5 tanks of gas May just end up doing that. Badly want to go, but there is no way the 7 will be there.

No matter what you do! JUST GET HERE!!
Just a reminder for those who are on the fence on attending. If you have NEVER been to SevenStock, our event is COMPLETELY FREE. Yes, that's right folks, zilch, nada, cero, nothing, not a dime to join in on the BIGGEST Rotary EVENT in the WORLD! We do however ask for your support by purchasing an event T-Shirt from our booth or even throwing a donation our way to thank us!
Heck! Buy a Banquet Ticket and come join us for dinner Saturday Evening after the event!
(We don't make a penny off that either! I'm thinking of a fundraiser BBQ next time hahah!)

Yup, looks like just about everyone is backing out of the official caravan...
Can we get a head count for who is actually going to be part of the caravan (minus the Phoenix crew).

Last I saw Jet Blue was having one way NonStop from JFK to Long Beach for $139!!!
Someone didn't really do thier homework when planning the event - saturday in Yom Kippur. Do you have any idea how hard it must be to tell your Best Man that it's really not a good idea to fly out and hang out for a weekend? I bagged the whole trip - planning DGRR now and 7S11 instead. Both with my wife which is better anyway
