from here to there about 2,717 miles, covering 59 turns, aproximately 1 day 22 hour's drive at about 60 mph, do 16 hours of driving, that'll still be about 3 days. That's pretty crazy, good luck on the drive down.

Whoa check this out! http://rotarynews.com/node/view/833 Stuff going on Friday and Sunday too!
Did you know: this years SevenStock is at a new location? On Saturday morning, don't go to Mazda R&D on Reynolds! Go to Mazda Corporate HQ at 7755 Irvine Center Dr, Irvine Ca Tell your friends too... don't let them end up at the wrong location!
Did you know: this year's Banquet is brought to you by Rotary13B1.com ? Join them, the SoCal RX Club and a couple of hundred of the leaders of the rotary community at the Banquet! Tickets can be purchased from Rotary13b1.com.
Did you know: Mazda is allowing vendors to sell t-shirts, toys, key chains, and other NON CAR PARTS at the main event?! If you are a vendor, and want to sell anything except car parts, the cost of a permit is $100. If you are a vendor, and only want to show your parts, and sell nothing, the cost is free. Click here to submit to be a vendor.
Did you know: There will be events on Friday and Sunday this year too? Friday night, SevenStock kicks off with a charitable event at K1 Karting in Irvine, CA. For Sunday, there will be an Autocross at the California Speedway in Fontana, CA. More details to come!
Stay tuned for more information, and don't forget, "New Location, New Location, New Location!"

Just confirmed for Sevenstock 9 are Sylvain Tremblay and David Haskell of SpeedSource Race Engineering! Making the trip to SoCal with Tremblay and Haskell will be their Grand Am Rolex GT RX8 they been developing and competing in for 2006. SpeedSource has specialized in Mazda racing since its inception. Throughout the late '90s, continual development of the 2nd generation Mazda RX-7 produced a national market for the ITS class car, engines, and components. SpeedSource built over 50 Mazda RX-7s and dominated club racing, winning the SCCA ITS ARRC championship in 1998 and 1999.
SpeedSource also developed the 3rd generation Mazda Twin-Turbo RX-7, and again produced on-track results and built a market base for race parts. Endurance racing from 1996 through 1998 saw the two-car team score numerous poles, podium finishes, and the 1998 team championship in the Speedvision Cup. SpeedSource, with primary support for Mazdaspeed and Mazda USA, develops, builds and races the Mazda RX-8 in the Grand-Am Cup ST Championship, winning the drivers and teams championship in 2004, the first year of development. For 2005, SpeedSource repeated their 2004 success with the 2005 Driver, Team, and Manufacturer's Championship.
Our Banquet program has come together extremely well and with the newest addition it promises to be something very special. Purchase your tickets today!

I got two tickets to the SevenStock 9 Banquet, and I'm not gonna be able to make it out to Cali. I'm sellin' 'em for $80 shipping included, that's $40 each. You'll save a whole $6 for doin' nothing, woo hoo! If you want 'em send the money through PayPal, schism42@hotmail.com. Email me first of course to make sure they're still available before sending your money. Obviously leave your address and any other information you feel necessary.

Hoping for some updates to the Sevenstock.org website soon.
Other things that would be fun and easy to do include:
Timed side-by-side spark plug changing contest using a couple of core motors on engine stands.
Contest for who can assemble and properly torque a short block in the shortest amount of time.
Dunk tank for your most hated (or beloved) forum members with proceeds going to JDRF Of course, the dunk tank target would have to be rotor-shaped
Other ideas???
