Walter Mitty Friday, May 2nd thru Sunday, May 4th

Wish I had seen this thread before now because I was there all weekend camping with some friends from NASA SE and drinking with the GRM guys. Took my Dad and brought the SHO Taurus instead of the RX7 but now I would have reconsidered.......although I don't know where we could have put the tent and our gear if I brought the convertible. Anyway, I met a few of you guys as I was walking around that had their cars parked next to the Audi R8 in the infield. Was a good weekend all in all even with the iffy weather on Saturday.

Wow, it looks like I have some catching up to do!
Speedturn: This was the third year I attended The Mitty and everytime I do I always really enjoy watching you race. You always seem to push it out there and it really looks like you enjoy it! I didn't see your off-road adventures and I'm sorry to hear about them. It sounds like it was a rather eventful Mitty this year.
Dave and Elizabeth: You got my name correct! You see... those meds aren't so bad afterall . It was good to meet you guys and I'm sure I will see you again at Road Atlanta in a few months. Thanks for taking pictures (my poor wavey front end)! I put my camera in the car when I left for Road Atlanta and it stayed there. I am horrible about that.
John it was good seeing you guys again. It is nice to finally see your car. Holly has told me all about it. I will keep an eye out and an ear open for any potential buyers. It is definately a sweet machine.
The hot laps were okay. I think I would be happier with them if I only purchased one day instead of two (because I guess I missed saturday's). We didn't really have a chance to get on it though. Probably for the best given my boost control as I had to back off more than a couple of times due to creep as is.
Everyone: I had fun this year as I have in the past. It was great meeting all of you and catching up with those that I haven't seen in awhile! I won't be able to make the meet tonight in Suwannee as I have contract work to take care of after hours. Gotta pay for the money pit somehow. I hope to see everyone again soon.
PS. Good luck finding that watch Alan! If you get discouraged I'm sure Holly's offer is always on the table (watch for GTU)!

Awsome event everyone!! Great to meet all of you. Everyone is really nice. We had fun doing the touring laps and trying to represent the 7! We were in the Viper Yellow FC(n/a) We followed Richard(?) in his 93 red R1. And was followed by Alan is his rediculously clean FC GTU!! Apparently we almost burned off the factory paint on his bumper with our flamage!! j/k..

Hey Richard,
Glad I got it correct. I just get really spacey with all the crap I am on
Anyways, I have that exhaust hanger you are missing if you would like it. It is not polished or anything but you can get it polished. Let me know your address and I will ship it out to you.
What happened to your bumper. I think I heard you say something about getting backed into? Or is it the heat warp we suffer from on the stock bumper skin.

Thank you so much for your offer! That is very kind of you. Holly still had her stock exhaust and she let me take her hanger on Sunday night so I am set. The front bumper is a combination of the heat warp and someone backing into the car while it was parked and covered. If you look, the front of the hood is actually bent in. My poor FD is a target when it is parked. It happens about once a year. (and in different locations) Most of the time I race to get in the body shop but now I think my money and time (mostly time) will be better spent getting the boost back under control.

It could have been me you talked to, or you may have talked to one of my crew members. If you talked to someone tall, it was me. It it was someone of average height, it was one of my crew members.
