Out of this original list how many checks does it take to lock in this date. I am ready to send my check once I know for sure that we will have this date locked in. I'm willing to drive to Atlanta, but I'm not willing to drive more than six hours for the tune, so lets figure out what's going on with the rest of the people on this list and lock down this May 15th date.

 

I don't want to wait till the last minute and have everyone pull out of the tune, so If any of you guys below are still planning on being there say something or at least post something beside of your name if it's nothing more then "project not done yet"

As the title reads. I will e-mail everyone on the list tonight or tomorrow and find out if they all are still planning on attending. I have sent Scott an e-mail asking for the date of the 13th of MAY for Atlanta to be posted on the site. I know you asked for 8 people, but the site only ask for 5 and if we have 6 or 7. I want to make sure that we can still get the date. LISTEN UP "7" PEOPLE; I WILL ONLY SEND YOU ONE OR TWO E-MAILS OVER THE NEXT TWO WEEKS. IF YOU DON'T REPLY THEN I WILL PULL YOUR NAME OFF THE LIST AND IT WILL BE UP TO YOU TO ARRANGE THINGS. So, would I still need to register on the RotaryX site given that I have already sent Steve my check for 2 spots? In any case, consider this a confirmation that I will be attending on May 13th assuming we can get enough people to sign up.

BTW - Has anyone answered the question as to where this is going to be held? Have we picked a Dyno?

If you have the money and want to put yourself down then that's fine. If you look at the list then you will see that some of these people haven't e-mailed me back to let me know if they still want the tune, so if they don't then that's an open spot. I will add your name to the list if you are SURE that you want to join the tune.

Those are the questions that I'm trying to get answered now from Steve, because there is a wavier that we have to fill out. Give me a couple of days to see what is going on and I will post ALL info as soon as I receive it.

 

Let me know what the deadline is incase I get impatient and get a tune locally(although most likely not as good as Steves ). That way if I still haven't had a tune by the deadline I can send the check off and put my name down, but whatever works best for you guys. I DO NOT want to cause any problems because you guys obviously have been planning this for a little while.

I may just be dense, but I don't see how to sign up for the Atlanta tuning session from anything on this link.

I went to the Gotham Racing home page, clicked on Steve Kan Tuning, clicked on Schedule, and then clicked on Atlanta ?May 13 to submit a $350 bid.

I downloaded and printed a waiver form, which I signed and sent to Steve Kan, c/o Gotham Racing, 5621 Main St., Watauga, TX 76148. I had already sent a check.

Please advise if there were a better way.

I have talked to Scott at RotaryX.com and he has posted the Tune on the site. For you to purchase a spot go to the link below and bid (same as a purchase). You will have to register and you should receive an e-mail telling you everything else to sign up for the Tune. As of 8:20pm 27-MAY-06 there are 4 slots taken with checks and waviers sent in. All the people on the list below with Secured are the people that have sent in checks and purchased a slot for the tune. I will send a private message to everyone that has yet to reply and try to figure out what's going on with everyone. We have Steve scheduled to come down, now all we need is for everyone that wanted this to happen 1. Purchase slot on web site below 2. Send in check and wavier and 3. Show up

All checks sent in will be held until the day of the Tune. Scott informed me that Steve prefers for everyone to bring $350.00 CASH the day of and he will just give you back your deposit check.

I know we have a month and a half before the actual tune, but I wanted to give everyone on the list the chance to be the first to sign up. If we don't have all ten slots filled before next week. I had planned on posting Tune onto the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen page. Last updated 10:50am 29-MAY-06.

 

It looks like Dynolab in Marietta is available on the weekend of May 13th (www.dynolab.net). They usually charge $150 per hour for dyno time, but are willing to reduce the fee to $100/hour if we can get more than 5 people to sign-up. He said we could fit 6 people into one long day or could stretch it into 2 days if there are more than 6 people (assuming Steve can stay until Sunday). I know some people will want to do street tuning, but I would prefer to use a dyno for 3 reasons:

1. I want to be sure I can get the tune done regardless of the weather
2. I am concerned about getting (another) ticket. Tuning 10 (loud) cars on the same stretch of road seems likely to attract the cops.
3. General safety. I am not sure what kind of traffic might be on the roads...

For those that want to do street tuning, there is a major highway and the Marietta Loop (a more lightly used 2 lane highway) right around the corner from Dynolab. Either should provide the 1/4 mile Steve needs to do a street tune. I have 2 cars that will be tuned on the dyno, so we only need 3 more to get the special pricing. Send me your name if you are interested in tuning on a dyno rather than on the street.

Arthur at Dynolab also suggested that everyone bring an extra set of spark plugs, make sure they have good wires/coils, and have a working boost controller. He said the most common problem with tuning turbo cars is boost control.
