It's looking doubtful now. Basically he had AB hernia surgery on the 10th of April so he was slowly moving around. Since the 10th he's came by for a total of 3 hours. Top it off with a call today telling me the doctor thinks he's had a mild stroke and won't be home until Wednesday sometime and it's looking grim indeed. He said he's call me on Thursday to let me know how he's doing which doesn't sound positive since he didn't say he'd be at work Friday to allow me to go Friday and Saturday.
Sucks ***** basically.

As you all may or may not know, I am a Meteorologist. And not the dopey TV kind, I have a 4 year Atmospheric Science degree.
Anyway, it's looking like we're going to NEED that EZ Up tent. Does anybody have one? Friday will be perfect, Saturday will start out nice, with chances of rain increasing throughout the day. Right now it looks like it won't rain until 6pm or later Saturday. But then Sunday could be quite wet - probably rain in the morning, and not drying out until noon or afterward.
So if we don't have a tent, it would be a VERY good idea to rent one for the weekend. Since I'll be driving down in the Tribute, I could pick it up and bring it to the track if somebody local finds a place to get it. I don't take pictures in the rain, so I'd be huddling under it with everyone else ... hopefully drinking beers and BBQ'ing!

I'm driving the Tribute if anything needs hauled ...
If it's raining, no way am I taking my $$$$ camera gear out. For one, pictures turn out crappy when it's raining ... and two, I'm not getting paid to cover the event, so rain means beer drinking time!
My D200 is completely weather sealed though
People on the fence about coming, don't bail just because I used the word rain in my forecast. Still, the majority of the weekend will NOT be raining, and like I said, right now we're far enough out the forecast could change completely. The rain might not end up getting into the area until Sunday afternoon.

It looks like it would be $60 to me. $25 for each ticket and $10 for infield parking. I think the $35 ones are if you are just getting one ticket and driving I would think, just to make it more simple.

I'm here in Atlanta and just got done unloading the #67 and #68 C2 Lola Mazdas that were at Le Mans in '84. Learn more about them here: http://www.conceptcarz.com/vehicle/z...6/default.aspx
These cars are amazing. Owner and Le Mans driver Rick Knoop is here and is a great guy willing to tell a story or two about his time racing this machine.
I also helped unload the famous 78 green and tan right hand drive RX-7, the #1 GTO car and expect to see the 782P, Downing's RX-2 and RX-3, Spencer's LMP2 car and several other famous rotary powered vehicles.
I'll keep you posted on what shows up tomorrow.
I've reserved the area to the left just as you pass the Suzuki bridge for the Mazdas. This is the first time all these cars will be in the same place at the same time, so you guys are in for a real treat.
Let EVERY rotary enthusiast you know about this gathering - they won't want to miss it.
See you guys in a couple of days!

Hey Bill, could you give us some more information about when the cars will be on track? What time the sessions are and such. I don't want to miss ANY opportunity for photos! I assume I'll find out when I get there, just like to be prepared.

Oh, and good news on the weather front ... still too far away to tell, but the latest model runs of the forecast charts are out. They show the upcoming weather system slowing down significantly . It's starting to look like it won't rain until Sunday afternoon.
