hey hey long time no talk!!!!

my car is still down with a blown motor...
I went and picked up a engine with 15k miles on a full rebuild but everything seems kind of weird since the engine is supposed to be a 1980 12a model but the flywheel is the wrong weight for the interals and wrong size since the clutch should be a 215mm but its a 225mm which is what the 83-85 were................im kinda knocked off by all that.....

it would be nice to have it done for the meet and use the miles making the trip up there and back to break the clutch in, but im still in the process of ordering things i come across needing and i still need a hoist...

if anybody has one locally i could barrow for a week or so that would be awsome so i dont have to rent one since i dont know how long i will need it

yeah man, congrats on the internet...i know how life is without it! mine was down today until this evening!!! hahahaha...

anyway, back to business: for the meet...rally at Big Daddy's like usual? or somewhere else since the main hosts (Lisa and Minda) have moved? from the rally/lunch point, make our way to SC 11. Pass up 276 (like last time) and make it to US178. take 178 up to Rosman, NC, this time turn left in Rosman and head towards US64. Turn left on US64 and travel just a few miles to US215. Turn right onto 215 and take it up to the parkway and then back down the other side. at the light with 276, turn Right and head back up 276 towards the parkway...then back down to US64 and work our way back to Ceasar's Head, back to SC onto 11 and back into the upstate?

how does this route sound? I'm estimating it will be around a 3 hour trip...just want to see if that is ok with everyone? Another idea would be to see if the parkway is open between 215 and 276, if it is, we can cut a little time and take the parkway...i can possibly check on this the week before the meet...

well, let me know...

well last time i used about 1/2 a tank. We can probably host the after drive run at my house. I've got a pretty big back yard and i'm sure we can dig up a grill somewhere.

If we're going to the mountians, why not meet a little closer to the route? Like Greenville or Easley?

btw tray, the parkway is closed between 215 and 276 (pisgah)... tried it like a week ago... you can almost make it, but they have it gated and locked now. sigh, not open till spring again. you can still get to devils courthouse for some pics and ****... but not too much further after that... its closed.

Well, I don't have a problem hosting at the new house. We have plenty of room and I know where the grill is. Its much bigger and better - the house that is.

The last upstate meet I was at, I filled up near Irmo (exit 97) and went the whole way, when I got back to exit 97 I had to fill up. (5spd n/a s5 too).

But your coming from Charleston so...

btw... Ive never seen your 7 yet...neither have the rest of us, but congrats on getting it on the road.
