We'll see y'all Saturday.
Yeah, She's a keeper alright....Owns 3 bikes of her own and I'm getting her "turned on" to sevens....She's 25, I'm pretty sure she can take care of herself

PS. Oh yeah, I'm gonna be in a white FD with a few mods.
Follow Christina's directions and you should find us without a problem. If you have any questions or for some reason miss a turn then call this cell # 919-247-3884 around 5:00 pm, I should answer and we'll get you the rest of the way. Don't worry if you're a little late, as an FD owner we expect FDs to arrive on their own schedules.

And Christina, as an FC driver you're gonna have to rachet down your enthusiasm over the FDs, you're gonna give them an undue sense of importance and inflate their egos to a dangerous level.

"(well, at least you guys seem to make them rare and endangered!)" never mind and a VERY GOOOOOOD jab - I am impressed :0)

Why do the FD guys show up whenever they want instead of at 5:00 like everyone else?

Dee,
it's kinda an inside joke. It seemed like last summer all of the FDs would show up an 30minutes to an hour later than everyone else. Bert, always rags on us for never being able to make the meets on time (hell now most of us don't make the meets in our FDs at all since the cars are undergoing serious repairs/mods). I don't think an FD has EVER been the first to show up at a meet before. You can show up at 5:00P if you want/can; there is no rule that says you can't, it would just be a first for our group.

Christina,
I think you and Lauren are the only girls that have ever shown up to our meets, sporting a rotary of their own. So, I wouldn't hold my breath for any others. You'll just have to put up with us obnoxious guys. Oh,and it is OK to worship the FD, we are like the ancient gods, after all. We always promise to return with power and vengeance. Then, we never seem to show up, but still expect everyone to continue worshipping.

Ryan,
I know how it is with the women, they want attention and seem to forget that no matter how much we care/love them, we still love our cars more. However, you will have to break that news to her gently. Hope to see you at the meet, even if it is just for a few.

Ray,
I wouldn't even bother checking the battery and alternator. I would rip the panels off and start looking for crimped/crushed/stripped wires in the area where the damage occured. I would put money on it being a short; even a small one can drain a battery overnight.

Josh, you're wrong about an FD never showing up on time. There is a guy named Shawn that now lives in Charlotte, or near Charlotte, and back in May at the second or third Drive-In ever held when I got there he was already parked and waiting. He has a beautiful black FD and said something about getting there so early because he couldn't wait to see if any of those beautiful FCs would show up!

And we have had some women RX8 owners show up at the drive-ins during the summer. A lady and her husband drove up from Fayetteville in a red 8 and I think that the yellow RX8 that was also at some of the meets and at the GRR, her husband is jaguar, was the primary driver of the RX8. But no Lauren and the Perky girl are the only female RX7 owners we've had at the drive-ins.

I stand corrected. I always seem to forget about those RX8s.

Dee, you would be the 2nd FD to show up on time.

i am going to be jealous when all these running FDs are out. Maybe someone will let me sit in it an pretend, so I can remember the days when I had an engine in the car, and not a stand.

Well, I'm jealous of the people who can actually make it out.

...damn work. If everyone would like to donate a few hundred dollars a week, I can quit my job and come to meetings! Any takers?

Come on out everybody to the Raleigh Rotary Drive-In this afternoon at 5:00 PM at the Char Grill on Strickland Road. Clean and Shine those cars up and come out to see some beautiful automotive designs and meet some great people, rotary owners and even some rotary drivers.

Joey, you can find a job anytime, how often can you attend a rotary meet?

We might even let Josh sit in an FC so he can find out what a real car looks and feels like. Christina will even be there with a working exhaust system.

Ray, did you get your electrical problem fixed? Bring it out and we'll work on that this afternoon.

It has been over two months since we've all gotten together so everyone drop all the excuses, work, girls, sickness, whatever and make it out to the drive-in. Remember we have trips to plan, a bowling challenge to make, and a new girlfriend to meet.

Funniest thing I've read all day.

Certainly I could find another job anytime, but could I find another job that pays well... where they don't expect me to do any actual work? Let's face it, I get paid to talk all day, and it's enough to buy me two RX-7's.

I might look into requesting off at least one Saturday a month so that I can come. I miss you guys!

We had a great Drive-In last night and I've got some great pictures of most all the cars and drivers that made it out. The bad news is that we had only 5 FCs to make it and thanks to Taylor and a buddy that drove out their running FDs we had 6, count'em, six FDs. Y'all shamed us FD drivers last night and it sure was great to know that there still are some fully functional FDs and the men to keep them running thru the winter.

I apologize for this but I'd like to get everyone's name and a way that I can get in touch with you by PM and email. So I'll ask everyone to send me a PM with your forum name, your given name, brief description of your car, and where your are located (for the guys in the military you'll have to keep us posted on general location and how we can get in touch if you'd like to hear from us.

I'll post pics either tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks for everyone that drove out for the meet, you made it great and we'll do it again on the 26th.

Bert

Perkystina: Sorry that I didn't get to give you a ride before I left. I wanted to, but we had some other things we had to take care of in Raleigh before we went home. Maybe next time I'll take you for a spin.

I had a great time everyone, hopefully next time I will be able to stay longer and get to know some of you guys more. You all seem pretty cool. Peace

The flatbed towtruck was funny, we were all like "hell he had a 50/50 chance with all the FDs here". Should have seen Josh....I think he sat in everyone of them! Just poking man.
