I am definitely gonna be there for the Father's Day event. I've got it book marked and will keep an eye on it for the opening of registration. You think I could do this course in an Acura? And do any of the hotels in the area have hot tubs in the rooms? :0)

I'm still working on the down east meet up. We'll work out the whens and wheres at the next few meeting and discussions with some of the owners in Jacksonville and Wilmington.

It seems the Air Force had a little bit different take on the alphabet. You didn't have the job of standing in front of the airplanes and spinning the props by hand to get the engines started did you? :0) That always looked pretty dangerous to me.

So you're gonna do the Father's Day Mazda Hi Performance Drifting Seminar too? We get a couple more people interested and maybe we can all get a cabin together, as long as it has a hot tub.

 

Christina, I'm afraid that Josh lost interest in having y'all as roomates when you threw in the part about her turning 17 by the time Deals Gap roles around. If you'd left that info out y'all would have a free room. We'll all pretend she's your little sister.

Hope we get to see Scott Saturday if the weather permits y'all to make it to the Drive-In.

I've never run the car at the strip. I had planned actually to go last weekend, but then I damaged my exhaust and that blew my budget for a trip. I'm hoping to trap 100 with a 50 shot and hit 13's. Considering I have a high 14 second setup right now (based on a 9.7@71, 2.1 60' in the 1/8th that Steve got) I think that's possible. I'm reluctant to do more than a 50 or 75 shot because my NA drivetrain can't really take much more, although one of these days I'll probably just pay Steve to do a swap for me.

I decided that I'd get the most enjoyment out of nitrous so I canned upgrading suspension. So I'm going to be driving around with noisy shocks and struts for many moons I think. I do have lowering springs on the way though b/c I got them for like $115 shipped off ebay. Speaking of budgets, the nitrous has killed my budget for tail of the dragon, so that's off too. You gotta make sacrifices when you have limited resources I guess.

Pretty soon I'm going to go pick up Rick's old fuel pump, and put in some 550cc turbo II secondary injectors. Then I need to get some gauges, as I just purchased a gauge panel that will mount them above my radio. When all the parts are together Jeremy and I will put the kit on and I'll see if Steve can inspect everything to make sure it looks ok.

Then I will take it to a dyno and probably spray it there, or perhaps even before that depending on my level of self control. Either way, it's going to have to be tuned with new injectors and fuel pump. Since this is a wet kit I don't think I technically need new injectors but my stock ones are already maxed out with my current mods so it seems like a good idea.

I'll have my car together about the same time you do, although hopefully before that. I'm pretty sure a nitrous install can be done in one weekend, but that assumes that this kit I bought isn't missing little miscellaneous stuff that I will have to acquire.

 

sounds good. maybe we can get a few guys together and hit the track sometime in march. I wanna see what my car does in the 1/4 (HP #'s are nice, but times are better). We'll miss you at Deals Gap, but will enjoy seeing the FC get some extra power.

My son John and I will be signing up for the Mazda Drivers Group on Fathers Day weekend as soon as they post the registration. Looking forward to seeing Johny and Bert there.

 

I would be interested in going to the VIR event in June, that sounds like it would be a lot of fun.

We are SO gonna be having this meeting... even if we strap skis on our sevens to make it there. Mine can be a big yellow sled. Weee!

Jeremy is still trying to sell his car but he hasn't had any real serious offers (lowballing doesn't count). He still has his autotrader up. He's deep in debt right now so he's going to keep working to pay bills and when that's all taken care of he may just keep the Eclipse if he still can't sell it for a decent amount of money (he wants $12k). I'm going to try and get him to relist it on ebay one more time, but it costs $40 and thus he's reluctant.

If Rick has his car tuned by then he'll probably want to come too. Last I heard he put his wideband O2 sensor in and is now ordering new primary injectors.

 

Its a blast. we ran the same event last year. the most fun I ever had with my clothes on.

If the weather's clear, I'll probably come. Steve if you wouldn't mind I'd like to get those injectors off of you tomorrow if I do make it. I owe you some money for the brakes anyway so we can square up.

johny, i was stuck on the i-40 lot for about 3 hours, but i know some people that were there 8-10hours. OUCH! I think I would have just pulled over and gotten a room. gotten a bottle of liquor and a 15 year old girl which is harder in the Fiero than it is in the FD (oops! did I say that)

Maybe we should move the meet up to 5pm like last time and I will actually try to be there on time.
