Bert, I made contact with a gentleman by the name of Rick Roszko with a nicely modified FD. Hopefully, he will be making the club drive-in this weekend. Just wanted to give you guys the heads up, as he is not a member of the board. I also gave him your email address, since I will not be there this weekend. Take care and I'll see you on the 26th.

I'll be tracking my Miata at VIR next weekend. Should have my green/white EZ-Up. There will be other members of the Mazda Sports Car Club of NC that are going to be tracking their cars...

June 12 Drive-In
Right off, no I didn't get any pics of last nights drive-in, I forgot my camera, but next meet promises to be even better.
I agree with Dave, it was great to have several new cars and drivers show up last night. We had a total of 6 cars and 8 new people at the drive-in. Steve was there with a white Turbo II. Dave and his friend, I didn't catch his name, found their way to the Char Grill in a RED, yes, I said RED, FC. Taylor arrived in his black FD and Rick and his son drove in, in a beautiful Montego Blue FD. That 's the way it stayed until about 9:00 pm when a comp yellow R1 showed up. Turns out that the driver didn't know a thing about the meeting, he was just stopping in to get a milk shake and noticed all the 7s. We got him some information and he was glad to know that there was such group in Raleigh. Did anyone catch his name?
It turns out that Dave and his friend, I apologize for not getting his name down. Have a few FCs and are wanting to upgrade one from NA to a Turbo config. I'm gonna have to drive out to Bahama just for the roads. (Dave, please send me your buddy's name) Dave also mentioned that he was taking a car up to Piedmont Drag Strip on Thursday if anyone else is interested just drop him a comment or PM him, NCTII87 on this forum.
Also interesting, Rick and his son, rebuilt their rotary after it blew and had never worked on a rotary before. A very impressive feat. It sounds like he now has a lot of experience that he is more than willing to share with us. He'll be a great resource for the FD guys and probably the FCs as well.
In summary we had 3 FDs and 3 FCs at this week's drive-in. Taylor and I were the only repeat members, this was the first meeting for the other 4 cars.
In addition to admiring each others engines and cars, we discussed the Oct. 2-3 events at VIR and the possiblilty of going up there in October for the races on the first Saturday and Sunday in October. I'll be driving up next weekend to find the course and see what the Mazda Driving Assoc. School is like. I passed out some additional Raleigh Drive-In flyers and some wallet sized business cards I made up for the group. I also handed out some info on the Mazda Driving School, although its now full with no open spaces. It sounds like a very good event.
Most of the guys that drove in last night said they'd be back on the 26th, so if we can get Josh, Blacksupra, Dave Visago on the 26th we'll have a very good, and impressive rotary showing, and some of the guys new this week said they new other owners that they'll introduce the club to.
Looking forward to the next meeting.

That sounds great. I am sorry I missed it, even though I did have a good time at HIN. I look forward to meeting all the new people and seeing all the old on the 26th.

Sorry I didn't make it last night got tied up. I went up to VIR today for the vintage races Great time! I wont be able to drive up next weekend but I would like to hear about it and get any info possible. Between the Mazda Club meet Fri and Vir races today made me reprioritize my work on the car, I think the suspension will come before the body now I want to get on the track! See yall at the next meet.
