If not, some of you 2nd gen guys are gonna be lab rats to fix my car haha.

BLACKSUPRA
Shoot me an IM on my phone when you find the date for the june and july meets... still no internet (at the library)

After the May meetings every week we decided to try meeting the 2nd and 4th Saturdays for the remainder of the summer. Hey if there are some people that would like to meet up every Saturday, I'd say put the invite out and get together. I didn't want to wear everybody out with meetings.

Thanks Joss and Johny for supporting us and the idea of having some Raleigh meets. Come when you can and take care of things when you must. We'll be meeting every other weekend thru the summer so you can catch up at the next drive-in.

I have put together a June calender of events with our meeting dates and the VIR drivers day for June 19-20, and the monthly meeting of the MSSCofNC but it is too big too attach to a thread. If everyone that comes to our meetings wants to PM me with information about events that we would be interested in I'd like to make a calendar for the coming month and be able to hand it out at the last meeting of the previous month. It would again give us something to discuss and plan for. Send me the critical information and I'll add it to a calendar for the next month. I could also email it out for those who want to receive it that way. I'll have one to passout at the 6/12 drive-in.

I did find the Forum calendar and I have added our Drive-in dates on it for June and July.

Bert

Sorry to hear that. I hope it was nothing serious that caused the cancellation. I know we had several guys from last Saturday's meeting that had planned on joining in tonight.

I know what you mean. Have you tried getting her her own Haynes manual and a pink tool box with her own tools? My wife's excuse is that her Dad taught her never to borrow someone's tools and I have fussed at her enough about using mine and not putting them back where they belong. It didn't work for me but it might for you.

Come when y'all can.

Next Drive-In on June 12

I have just gotten off the VIR website, www.virclub.com/index.html and found some information about the Mazda driver training event on 6/19-20.
I'll have some copies at the meeting along with our events calendar. The actual participatory side of the event is full with no more slots available of course but I am planning on driving up next Saturday or Sunday to get familiar with the place and find the best, most interesting drive, up to VIR.
Also we need to discuss the Grand Am Road Race in October, the one in which the SpeedSource Mazda team will be racing, to see how many might be interested in attending and decide if it is something we want to do as an group. We might do an informal road rally from Raleigh to VIR with some timed stretches and some other interesting things on the way up in October.

Do the Drive-In if you can.

Bert

I am definitely up for the run in october, Bert. Since I will be in Charlotte this weekend I will miss the drive-in. Hope there is a good turnout. I've handed out several of the flyers, so hopefully we might have some new people show up this saturday.

Josh, sorry you're not gonna make it this weekend but that's why we'll have the next drive-in in two weeks.

Thanks for responding to the VIR event, I'd like to get some idea of who is interested so that I can figure out if it is worth planning and start recruiting some help for a road rally, or some other activity along the way.

Good job on the flyers, I have yet to see another RX7 when I'm in mine and I can't remember to put some in my other car. I hope they generate some extra interest.

Hey guys, I dont know how I missed seing this thread but I just wanted to say it was nice meeting all of you in person at the last meet on memorial weekend. Sorry I had to leave so quick but hopefully I'll see all of you again next time (this saturday), minus the few going to HIN. I've passed out all of my flyers so maybe we'll see some even more 7's coming up there this time.

glad you found the thread. this is kinda like the unofficial thread for our drive ins.

I have a question for you; I know you are running the same size tires as I am, have you had a chance to price how much it would cost to have the front fenders rolled by a body shop. I was thinking about buying the tool from eastwood it is almost $300, but don't know if it is worth it? I'll try and catch you at the drive-in on the 26th.

Thanks, Taylor for making the last drive-in. We'll see Saturday if the flyers are helping to establish our group in the Raleigh area. See you on Saturday

Hey man, I have not had a quote on rolling my fenders directly but when I got a quote on the quarter panel damage that I have, I asked him about the fenders and he said it was a risky job to do because of the risk of damaging/chipping the paint but he guessed around $200. And as for getting the tool from Eastwood, I'll split that price with you and we can go in on it together and maybe loan it out to others that may need it on a first come first serve basis. I imagine after you and I use it we wont really need it anymore(hopefully ) But yeah, I'll catch you at the next drive-in we're both at and we can talk.

yea i think the key is similar to what the paintless dent removal does; heating up the paint to make it more flexible (i'm just pulling that out of my ***, but it seems to make sense). anyhow we'll talk about it later. take it easy.
