Christmas Poem
T'was the night before Christmas, down towards Raliegh way,
All of the RX 7's had come out to play.
Oh the excitement and oh what a thrill
To see all those 7's at the Char Grill
All of the hoods were raised with glee,
Turbo's and intercoolers as far as the eye could see.
When all of a sudden there came such a sound,
Santa and his Reindeer had crashed to the ground.
Yes this had confirmed our worst fear
Those Carolina rednecks had shot Santa's reindeer.
Then I saw Bert rise to his feet
I'm sorry guys we're going to have to cancel this meet.
We'll hook our cars to Santa's sleigh
And our marvelous, stupendous, rotary machines will save the day.
Steve said: I'm a good tuner can I lead your sleigh,
Santa said CONSIDERING...... and not another word did he say
My name is Ashraf and I don't want to boast
But I've got a Miata and it's faster than most.
Santa replied: well now if this is a fact,
How come I never see you at the track?
Josh said: Santa I've got mid engine power
Santa says: No son not at this hour.
We only have a little while and it's getting late,
But here is a Barbie for your date.
We don't have Rudolph as we did in the past
So this year my sleigh will be let by Red Blast.
So they hooked up those 7's as quick as a wink
most were running no cat's so boy did it stink.
On Lucy, Ricky and Brenda Sue
Go Tiffany, Lee and Burt's GTU
On Steve, Dave, Josh, Ryan let's take to the air.
What's that on the back of your car, is it the spare?
And all the toys were delivered on time
and Johny and Bert were home at quarter past nine.
There is a rumor he went to Capitol Blvd. that night
and left some guy in a Supra staring at his tail lights.
So Merry Christmas to all and let's keep it real!
And may your RX7 never blow an apex seal.
Merry Christmas Everybody look forward to seeing you soon!!!!!!!!

Wow, where did that come from? hidden talent revealed. How drunk do you have to get to write poetry? Or was Karen the author, anyway y'all make a good team. Thanks for the holiday inspiration.
We still on for the holiday laps? It looks like there will be 3 or 4 coming up from Raleigh.

Johny or Karen is our official poet. How about they write us an official club song that we can all sing at the close of each drive-in? Or we could all get it on CD and crank up our audio systems and since it together before the youngins head off to Captial Blvd and the old guys go home to bed.

We, the RX7 club, could send her a nice Christmas card and make a proposal that she donate the car to the Kidney Foundation, we be allowed to rebuild the car, get it running, and then she could bid on it along with others, if she wanted to get it back. We'd also have to deal with Millenium to see if they would be willing to take a tax write off on what they have in the car. I don't know how she feels about the whole problem but if nothing is happening on it then this might be a way to shake things loose and save the car.
What do you think?

If we can get enough people together and get this lady or millenium in on it...this might just work. Bahh..too much thinking...less talk...more sleep......

Well I have to take credit for the poem, I just got Karen to type it for me, it would have taken me all nigt to type it. I hope everyone enjoyed it and no one took offence.
Bert, of corse we're still on for VIR just give me a shout before so we can meet up. As I stated before it is a lot of fun and you can learn your way around the track, A professonal track person told me to run every lap I can, parade, pace or whatever to learn the correct "line" of the track. I know other people have been talking about "running at speed " Bla.bla bla but it is for charity and it does help in the long run.
Dave: I heard some one had put money down on a t2, it must have been Steve
see y'all soon, remember, Santa's Watching

LAST CALL for GRR Shirts
Mike & Ryan, Guys and Rotary cars is wassssupp (hope I spelled that rite) what could be more up than a man with a rotary powered beauty to drive and spend time and money on, besides an equally beautiful woman that is. :0)
Last call for GRR T shirts. Anyone who attended the Grand Rotary Rally, 2004, decided they want to add their name to the Tshirt order. We're looking into long and short sleeve shirts with the GRR Logo on the back and a smaller version on the front left chest. Going with Ash gray or white and may look into doing black shirts. What do ya'll think? Any preferences? I from the ticket sales for food at the GRR it looks like we should have about $4.50 to apply toward the shirts and that means about $7 - $8 per shirt to pay for them when we pick'em up. Hope to have them in February or early March at the latest. If someone didn't order one and has decided this was such a memorable event that they got to get the shirt then now is the time to add yourself to the list.
