Saturdays In Raleigh, Nc
I was running some more numbers and talking to one of my potential new bosses today, and I might net more cash with a different job here in Boringtown. It's lower pay than the Raleigh job, but without having to spend all that cash on gas, it comes up to be about even. Then I would just buy an RX8 for fun, but I'll have a more difficult time justifying it to the significant other.
Now I'm trying to make the two department heads that want me to start a bidding war for my services. This is all within the same company that I currently work for, btw.

If you guys want to fire some real guns I could talk to some of the guys on Bragg or we can just go to their range on Chicken Foot road, where I believe they fire the M1A1 Abrams if I'm not mistaken. At least that's what it felt like at my old house, replacing windows and rebuilding the walls. Not to mention being able to hear EVERY weapon they fire like it's right down the street, and I thought I was miles away, hmmm. The guys in my shop that live in Raeford drive by that range on Chicken Foot rd every morning. And when Victor gets back I'm sure he could fire off a few missiles from his truck, haha. Field Artillery FTW!!!
I need to get a good handgun before Hillary gets into office. I have a bad feeling that she may end up with a majority vote this next time around.... ugh don't get me started on that one! Women presidents = FTL!

I dunno Phil. We might need to start him off on something else first, then let him work his way up.

on another note, i just recently found out that my car is faster than originally thought.
apparently, the FD gas pedal only allows the LS1 throttlebody to open to about 85% or so. there is a pedal stop that prevents it from going any further. a quick removal of the pedal and about 30 seconds with a grinder gives you about another 12-13% The additional 2-3% is gained through a mod to the TB(i haven't done that yet because it involves measuring the voltage from the TPS, and grinding carefully, so as not to go to far past 100%. too much effort for a sunday afternoon, esp after changing out an alternator, headligh, and doing an oil change on the my other whip, the Fiero.
Anyhow, after Eric gets back and my new bushings go in. Look for another run down at fayettenam. i am thinking there should be another .10-.20 in her with the added throttle, and suspension. not to mention i have gotten much better at launching the old girl.
downside to all the power. it'll be time for new rear tires soon. upside, sticker tires will make her handle better, and quicker off the line.
12.5 ETs on a bone stock LS1 FTW!!!!!
PS. she may still be going on the giggle gas later this summer. muhahahaahaha!! 11second ETs FTMFW!!!!!!1111111!!!11tybillion!!!!!!1!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!

Go SRT-4!!! SRT-4 for the win!!!
I had to taint the forum on that one I got around 22-25 mpg city driving getting into it all the time(lowest on record is about 18 mpg with 20psi dialed up and romping around), 27-30 highway...that was when I was running low boost(10psi) on my controller and a K&N filter. SRT-4 FTW
On 5psi for a long road trip I had several tanks where I got 33 mpg. SRT-4 FTW.
With only about $1000 in mods I had 267hp 346 lbs torque and STILL got better gas mileage than any stock rotary SRT-4 FTW
Oh yeah, on another note. SRT, FWD, 4 cyl, 4 door=cheaper insurance than a 2 door, rwd, sports car. SRT-4 FTW
Oh...and did I say SRT-4 FTW?!?!?! Okay, done filthing up the thread now But seriously, if you don't beat the hell out of the car, SRT-4's are great for a combination of comfort, gas mileage and power. The down side is being stuck to 93 octane till forever and the day after

since we are on a piston FTW roll. LS1 FD = 27-28 mpg with manual diff, and about 28-29 with auto diff. round town getting a little throttle happy from time to time. i get about 20-22 MPG. oh and on long road trips, it'll run 87 octane with no problems. just remember what you have in the tank before you get throttle happy.
see above post for estimated performance.
with a clean record, my insurance for full coverage(collision, comprehensive, and liability) was about 60 a month. now, after two wrecks in the past 3 years, it is about 100, maybe more.
comfort however does not exist. hahaha.
reliability = indestructible. hahaha
okay somebody ban me before i keep going.

Josh I remember you saying you were getting great mileage... very nice. Now add that extra pedal and damn! I have to admit it's pretty impressive all the way around.

this would be SO much fun if you could make this happen. Seriously, though... I wanna go shooting, tooooo! I gotta start shopping around for a good handgun. I haven't shot many handguns in my past... mostly rifles and wimpy stuff.
I need to get a good handgun before Hillary gets into office. I have a bad feeling that she may end up with a majority vote this next time around.... ugh don't get me started on that one! Women presidents = FTL!

anyhow, if you wanna find a good gun, let me know. i will keep my eyes out. FWIW i would consider Smith & Wesson .38 revolver for concealed carry/personal defense. I have one that never leaves my side unless, i am at work. lightweight, easy to carry. fits in a pocket, back holster, glove compartment, etc. whenever you guys close on the house, and get settled, and both of you have some time off, i can take you down to the range, and you can shoot 3-4 different kinds of handguns.

Thanks Greg. I do love my LS1, but found myself longing for a rotary the other day. I think I was watching a video of a modded FD at WOT, and missed that amazing sound. It is one of a kind.
Make an assessment...

Yeah that gixxerkart would be nice, as well as a big kid big wheel.
And thanks alot Josh, discover the throttle issue AFTER I drive the car, heh, whatever. LOL Hey, sorry again about yesterday. Liz got here at 2 and we hung out til about 8, and we watched a movie today. I have yet to put the CAS in, since I'm gonna need a crow's foot or a universal joint, AND the fact that I have to remove the pulley (I didn't realize that when I looked at it last night). And Eddie was talking about swapping his ECU but it's set to 14.7 for all his mods, and he's trying to figure out if he'll have to up his manual boost controller to 14.7. I assume so, but I don't know much about all that yet.

One highlight thought is We have tickets to the Coca Cola 600. Well hopefully it will be a highlight, I know it's just a bunch of left turns but a live Nascar event is required within 2 years of moving to North Carolina right?

i wish bro. my money is tight right now, or i woulda been all over that spray kit you have. most of my budget was eaten up by the bushings for the FD, and a tranny I had to buy for my Camry.
