I'm not sure that's possible, lol.

BTW, Josh, don't worry about the injectors, I found the money. I mean, you can bring them just in case, haha. I hope you're still coming down though. Thanks brotha.

I am working on a list of RRDI events and activities for 2007 and will have a draft at the next RRDI. If you want to add events I'll need the name of the event, its date, and its duration ( 3 hours, half day, all day, all weekend, etc).

As far as arrangements for our participation in the Brits and Battleship Car Show in Wilmington in November I have sent an email to the event coordinator and told her that we'd like to exhibit our cars as part of the Car Show. Everyone that has been knows the level of detailing and finish of the sports cars they exhibit and we have some members that have cars comparable in class to what is shown. They did have a class for Japanese Sports Cars last year and there were 3-4 miatas entered. So start thinking about what it will take to get your car in a comparable state for the Brits and Battleship Car Show in Novmeber.

And for the first gen RX7 I found a few days ago. Not worth the time and trouble to restore, totally rusted up. It does have the original engine but exterior is really weathered bad, the under carriage would have to be totally replaced, and interior would have to be totallygutted and restored. It might have some parts and useable body panels, most of the glass would be useable after a good cleaning. They also had a 280Z with AT there that was in somewhat better condition.

I thought the vodka logo and bottle shape was cool, and I have every intention of bringing a few bottles with me to use as a novelty, even if they are never opened.

You and I can chill together and babysit the rest of these whippersnappers. lol

It will probably will be just like last year--and any other event--where I don't drink and have just as good of a time as everyone else.

Hmm, lets see...paint, body work, possible engine rebuild just to get to Wilmington, clean out the entire engine bay (and paint), replace almost the entire interior...yeah, I don't think I'm gonna be showing my car, haha.

That sucks about the first gen too. If I had enough time and money I would jump into it, I hate to see one of our beloved get crushed or just waste away in general.

I figured you'd have them empty already before DGRR, I can call Barb if you need some help, haha. Although she says she's been clean since last year. You might be on your own. I do think it's cool to have them there though, probably not too many people have seen this I imagine.

Who is this?!

Phil, I can't see the pics at work so I'll have to respond to that when I get home tonight.

Josh, let me know if you're coming down early tomorrow or just tomorrow night or Saturday, so I can either put in for leave or just work tomorrow.

Oh yeah, I got the lower pieces to my coilovers in the mail yesterday. They didn't use the two piece bushings again, they look kinda like our stock pillowballs this time, so I think this is gonna work great! I did have a little trouble getting the bottoms off when they were out of the car though, so this could turn into a real PITA.

As far as the drinking vs. deal's gap thing. We don't have any children here, and I am sure we can all make our decision as to whether or not we want to bring alcohol, and how much of that alcohol to consume. If you see somebody getting into a car drunk, THEN you have an obligation/right to say something.

Oh, whomever the masked man 'that.one.guy' is, brings up a good point(even if we don't all agree with the phrasing). There has already been enough animosity, created within the group, because of people trying to control other's actions. It has taken a lot of the wind out of the sails of this years event, for me and several others. We have always been a loose association of people with a similar interest, free to come and go as we please. That is part of our appeal, let's keep it that way.

In the word's of Rodney King "Can't we all just get along?"

Just my 2 cents for FWIW. Oh and RRDI FTW!!!!! We are unstoppable. (Read: I'm the juggernaut bitch )

Never opened is good, I got no problem with that I just don't want people on the Dragon that aren't in full control of themselves or their cars, at least not from RRDI. It is not smart, driving and drinking have never been cool or smart or responsible behaviors, and no one from the RRDI should be endangering themselves or others on the road. Anyone got a problem with that?

Alright I'll go ahead and take off tomorrow then Josh, so we can get started on it right away and hopefully have it finished Saturday. Do you want to come down tonight or tomorrow morning? It's cool about not getting back to me last night though, I did buy them last night with overnight shipping so hopefully I'll get them tomorrow. I just figured since it's about time they get replaced (and I'm pretty sure mine are leaking anyway), and since we'd be all the way down in there replacing the primaries anyway, might as well swap them all at the same time.

Does anyone remember, or know of, where to find the Viton check valves? I remember someone telling me about it once before that I could get all of them for about $20. Might have been Ashraf actually. Hmmm.

Bert, I don't think anybody has a problem saying drinking and driving is irresponsible, and potentially dangerous. To say leave the alcohol at home(e.g. no drinking the entire weekend), is what I have a problem with. Like I mentioned I am not a child, and am responsible enough to know when drinking is appropriate. The same goes for all of the RRDI members that I know, I think they are fully capable of making their own decisions. If you see somebody getting a car drunk, then by all means say something.

Eric, I will roll down tomorrow morning. How early are you thinking? It should take us a couple of hours to get down to the injectors. The rat's nest will slow us down, it will need to be labelled. Anything else you think we might need?

I don't have a problem turning people that think drinking and driving is cool or appropriate behavior away from the DGRR. I hope they choose not to join us it that is how they are going to conduct themselves. If that is the only way you can enjoy driving or being with other people then you got a bigger problem than your attitude and you'll have a mighty short existence. What you do on your on time is your business and what you do in the company of others is everybody's business when your behavior can potently affect their health and well being.

The difference between being a child and an adult is accepting responsibility and acting in the best interest of others and when required placing the safety of others ahead of your personal interests.

I honestly don't think anyone had a notion to EVER drink AND drive. I'm sure people were thinking about drinking AFTER all driving is done for the day; like Poker and beer.

Uh, no, it needs alot of work to even be considered for showing, haha. The only reason it gets attention on a normal basis is cause it's a 3rd Gen, haha. When it was parked next to Andy's, my baby didn't get ANY love, haha.

However early you guys wanna come down bro. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it by any means, considering I probably won't get the injectors until the afternoon sometime. I figure we can do like we said and get started on it so we can have it apart by the time I get them though. Whenever, it's up to you. I'm going to handle the rats nest labelling. I don't remember if we have those label things here at work or not, if not I can just use some masking tape and/or just number them accordingly. I still have that colored vacuum diagram too, although it didn't help a whole lot last time, haha. I can't think of anything else we'd need. If you know someone that has a borescope please bring that, HAHA. I can probably get whatever else we might need if I don't have it already. I think we had all the tools when we did the hose job didn't we?

EDIT: Can you please bring your compression tester too?

It's like a tube you can see through that has a light on the end, so I can stick it through the plug hole and look inside the engine. Oh yeah, is Rob off tomorrow? Bring his *** with you, haha. It was good having someone cheer us on like he did when we swapped the hoses, haha. Did you see my change about the comp tester?
