Here's a good link on looking for stuff when buying, from a FC Turbo site but it will work.

Man you got to let me know how you like the new setup, and maybe a ride! I need to put new struts on my Vert so bad it's not even funny.

Good to hear from you Keith, the last time I saw you was in Charlotte. I'm also thinking about upgrading my suspension and was looking at Koni shocks and struts, don't know abouit coilovers though. I also must get me a Cusco strut bar based on what Greg has shown us.
You've gotta make the Deals Gap Rotary Rally one year, its a great trip up there and a lot of fun driving the Tail of the Dragon and the Cherahola Skyway and hanging our with several hundred other rotary owners. Caravaning up on Thursday or Friday and you could stop in Charlotte if you needed to and meet us in Statesville or Asheville and caravan the rest of the way to Fontana.
We'd love to have you join us if you're able.

Who's all ready for the drive tomorrow!?!?! Should be a good turn out for the meet also, with the weather being sooo perfect! We are still meeting at 3-3:30 at the CharGrill? Hey Eric, I invited that girl Janna from the MSCCNC site, ya know the one who calls her car "The Flea". Just waiting to hear back from her.
Also, I finally got a response from Sylvain Tremblay, SpeedSource owner/driver, he told me just to head down to their pit and they will glady show me around!!! Can't wait for the VIR 400! Hell, maybe I could even talk him into letting me sit in one of the cars...I doubt it but we'll see.

i think it is standard RRDI policy to switch but i can't remember.
also i run 10w30dinosaur, or 5w50 synthetic, depending on how my budget is doing. i dont think super thick oil would be good for a rotary, oil injection and what have you.

According to Mazda:
In starting and operating temperatures below 20F, use 5W30
In starting and operating temperatures between 0F and 80F, use 10W30.
In starting and operating temperatures above 30F, use 20W50
As far as brand any good quality oil that meets the API SL or SM standards should be fine.
I have Castrol GTX 20W50 in both cars atm. And as a side note it has been proven that the Mazda OEM filters beat everything else on the market.

well strike me down with knowledge. so i guess you cant go wrong with 10w30, but can easily go to the 20w50 in summer.
good thing i dont really have to care that much anymore i can use old oil, thick oil, thin oil, transmission fluid.

I won't be making it out tomorrow night, its my daughter's birthday and we'll all be celebrating it. She is our youngest and she'll be 28 on Monday. Needless to say I won't be able to clear off the RRDI Road Course tomorrow, so y'all be careful out there, ya hear.
If you are going up to Deals Gap please go to https://www.rx7club.com/se-rx-7-forum-35/nc-dgrr-caravans-635420/
and sign up for a caravan, if I didn't post a time that you need to leave then start your own caravan post and see what happens.
Anyone have an old ROTOR they would like to donate for the DGRR Owners' Award?

I run 20w50 all year long. Just rearely gets cold enough here IMO to justify switching it.
Ill be htere around 3 tomorrow. if Im not very talkative thats cause I am working overnight again tonight. its my 4th night in a row. Ill be tired, but alert. If that makes sense...

So I think I will get the thickest stuff. Maybe I should run gear oil...I'd be right on par with Eric for stinkiest car. Josh, your oil opinion doesn't matter to me. What YOU do behind closed doors is YOUR business. I like how you injected that little sly statement about not doing engine work but simply changing the oil. I'm giving you an e-finger...guess which one.

I really like the new springs and shocks. I have the shocks set at 2 on the front and 4 on the back. It's pretty stiff around town but it's not a daily driver and it's a lot more firm now and corners flatter in the turns. Overall i'm very happy with it. Now I just need to find some time to play with the settings on the KYBs a bit.
Also on that note, I have a set of stock vert springs that I need to clean out of the garage. They have like 128k miles on them. Easy miles I might add...
