Besides being a dirty old man I sometimes do some other stuff.... like put in my rear strut bar on my day off. Need to vaccum the back out and tiddy up the cutouts a little but otherwise it's done.

And here is the front, took about 3 mins to put it on Sunday.

Also replaced the rear speakers, since they were about 6 years old, with some newer versions. Nice difference there also.
So now.... got my suspension ready, got my tunes ready, just need to put on my new rear tires... Where's the Dragon?

Deals Gap Caravans
We need to begin a list of who is going up to Deals Gap and when they're leaving and if they want to join in a caravan.
They guys from Jacksonville are leaving Friday and might be good if any leaving around lunch time Friday might want to hook up with them. Who is planning on leaving on Thursday and when, morning or afternoon?
On a trip like this I would recommend a caravan just to insure no one breaks down on the road by themselves somewhere and is travelling with someone that knows how to get there.
Thinking about the DGRR Owner's Award, at leat do a mock up this year and have the RRDI sponsor it. I have a really cool dragon and we need a rotor to put him own and a walnut base to mount the rotor on. We could do it like the Stanly Cup, each year add a name plate with the winners name and car to the sides of the rotor. At this point just need a rotor to begin figuring out how to put it all together and how to treat the rotor, paint-polish-or powder coat it.
Looks like there is going to be a drive this Saturday before the Drive-In. I'll be sure to go out Saturday morning and sweep the entire course and insure it is free of any gravel or other debris. While I am at it I'll dry the roads wherever I find any standing water and patch any potholes I find. Anything else I can do for you guys while I am out there? How 'bout a free tank of gas on me? :0) (0:= I'll pick y'all up at the Stony Hill VFD if I get my brake work done. If not I'll see you at the Char Grill.
Bring a rotor if anyone has an extra laying around.

You definitely have me confused with someone else. My g/f thinks I drive too aggressively when Im in the middle lane of the interstate in bumper to bumper traffic. I have invited her to come with me in the past but she is convinced (and probably rightly so) that she will get sick riding with me.
In any case she has to make a 3 tiered cake plus decorate it for her grandparents anniversary sunday (if you need a bad *** cake for any reason she can make you one for cheaper than a baker!) so she wont be coming. Ill just come home "stinking like a lawn mower." She actually asked me if I was cheating on her this morning because I am working more this week than I normally do and will be going on my second drive in a week saturday without her. I laughed and told her that I dont mow lawns so the smell could only be from Gary's need to pre-mix AND run an OMP.

Eric; When are you leaving? I want to get out to the camp ground before mid-afternoon on Friday to get a site and still be able to spend some time on the dragon.

Hi, I'm looking for stock catback, stock rear shocks, and stock springs. If you have them laying around your house taking up spaces, I will take them off your hands. And the cheaper the better!! thanks.

I'm definately going to the Gap, but I'm not 100% sure of what day I'm leaving. It all depends on if I need to do some last minute work on the car, I might be installing a Miata suspension.

I'm taking leave Thursday and Friday...I'm DEFINITELY catching a caravan, I missed that so bad last time, except for the way back of course. Bert, I agree with your reasons for a caravan, but for me it's just as much riding out with everyone together, the comaradarie. I've always loved caravans with you guys.
I could have sworn that was you, haha. I wonder who that was then, hmmm. It was someone in our normal group, just can't think of them right now. And that's hilarious, she thinks you're cheating on her?? LOL I guess it could TECHINICALLY be called cheating, if you love your car as much as I love mine, haha. Yeah, I mean THAT way. LOL And I've been running premix with OMP too, it sure doesn't smell any worse than normal, HAHA. I'll keep the cake in mind too...you might want to get ahold of Jim Gaffigan though, I hear he loves cake!
It CANT smell any worse you mean.
As for camping equipment: Tent, sleeping bag, sleep pad/blanket or a stack of newspaper to sleep on (keeps you insulated from the ground.), warm clothes, cool clothes, twice as many socks as days you will be there, cooler for drinks and or food, mess kit or plastic utensils (ill probably bring an assortment box of plastic utensils), if you have a tarp bring that in case of a hard core down pour, bug spray with DEET, personal toiletries including poopy paper, and cash for the **** you will forget fire wood/charcoal.
I think thats it...

Eric, I hate you. BC, I hate you almost as much. (Because I was certainly watching the road...***...dead suspension FTL.) Eric, I hate you...again. Zero bar: nougat covered with chocolate. I haven't had one in years because I had the flu when I ate them last time; I puked a lot. I'd rather have zero bars of boost than boost and smoking like a burning oil well. Yeah! Your mom!

Extra post because Phillip's Postwhore-O-Meter is reading a little low. I agree with BC; I'm sure your car CAN'T possibly smell any worse. Oh and Cottonelle wet wipes are a good replacement for poopy paper especially when camping. Also bring plenty of Wet Ones along because they are very handy at removing grease and armpit funk.

Anyone around NC have a turboback exhaust for an FC? Something that flows well. And a dual alt pulley? Trying to see if I can get my AE ready for the gap.

I am astounded I forgot wet wipes as I had suggested them two pages back for dry cleaning yourself in the AM.

I've smelled the exhaust after I started using premix every other tank, and if anything, it does actually smell BETTER with the premix haha. The smell hasn't changed much to be quite honest though.

Eric, you are right. I want to leave on thursday morning. bright and early. maybe we can stay up all night THEN go. hahahaha. I have a spare one man pup tent if you need it. might make the trip with your female companion more exciting.
I wish I could go on wednesday with Chris and them, but can't afford the extra day off work (well I dont want to lose the vacation time, haha).

Eric, I would love to go, but 1. I don't trust my car to make that trip. 2. If I get this job that I've recently been interviewed for, I can't ask for a day off so early. The only way would be a weekend thing and I'd have to leave Friday afternoon and get back Sunday afternoon. I was going to say that you guys should bring along MREs as food since, well, it'd be like being in the field I guess, but Eric already said that. Scotch guard is good for your tent too when you open it up, but only on the outside.

I was playing tail gunner with the 2-ways to keep an eye out for the law. There were several times I had to drop back, way back, so I could get fresh air in my brain. It literally got to the point at times that I felt bad from the fumes.

Your cars are either broken or you are about the break them because you are dumping more money in the car. $1200 in suspension still won't save your car from loss of control, you know, with all that torque that you have.
That $50 may very well save you from some heartache and having to do bodywork and that mod applies to all the cars you own or ever drive.
From what I read about some of y'alls backroad driving, that $50 would be a very wise investment.

Josh, I MIGHT just do that, but I would really like to make a very good impression with them. I also can't overlook the fact that in order to have her ready, I'd have to replace the driveshaft, shocks, and check my brakes because I have a leak somewhere and a few other things. One major thing is that I'm a little tired of putting money into this car. It'd be a lot different if it was in pretty good shape to begin with, but it never was. I'll be there in spirit. Just look for the ghost RX-7 careening over a cliff while on fire.
