i dont mind. i have been on many camping trips without showering. i only worry about the people around us. if nobody in the group showers, the musk goes unnoticed. It is when you get around the freshly showered people that you get into problems. hahahhhahha

it shouldnt be too hot either, so that will help too.

Or.... new AXE for men, spray on and watch the girls go crazy!!!!

*edit* now that I think about it exhaust fumes smell nice also....

Seriously if any of you guys really need or want to take one I'm sure we could hook you up in somebodys room.

Stop trying to sugarcoat it Josh, LOL. If I was in the desert it'd be one thing, smelling good over there you stick out like a sore thumb haha. They have a campground on the Deal's Gap website and it says they have bath houses. Just a thought.

Oh, and there's no way in HELL I'm jumping into a 50* lake BC, haha. I am NOT part of the Polar Bear Club, haha.

Damn, I didn't read all these posts before I posted, haha. I see what Greg is saying too, a bed and A/C would be nice, or at least the bed part. I think the temps will still be cool enough to where we won't need A/C, but I could be wrong. When is the trip again? I need to put in for leave.

Oh yeah, I have 0 along the lines of camping gear too. I think I have a sleeping bag, that's about it. No tent, none of that.

Oh yeah part II...I'm getting that lower arm x-rayed right now, my buddy is hooking me up. So after he's finished with it, if he gives it his OK I'm swapping that bushing out and I'll be good to go. I already got the other one done so I'm halfway there. And when I get home tonight I might just start throwing stuff back on. I got a call from Ray Crowe this afternoon asking about which card I wanted to use for my parts. :smiley_12 I thought my stuff got shipped already. Turns out I won't get it til Thursday. So I guess I'm still on schedule technically. Friday is alignment day hopefully, and Saturday is meet (and drive?) day. WOOHOO!!!

Wuss. Its fun, and it sure as hell wakes you up in the am.

Im probably going to be buying a solo tent for Michigan this summer. It probably wouldnt be any issue to buy it ahead of time and use it for DG. In that case I would have a spare two person tent. Ill get back to you and let you know if I make it out to REI this weekend. Unfortunately I cant go any time sooner. I work third shift the next 4 nights.

Call Brad over at Digital Chassis in Durham. I don't have his number at the moment but he is the man. He isn't cheap but it's done better than right when he's done.

i think it is atlantic tire in cary. back there on the intersection of high house and maynard. they will align to whatever specs you want, for the same as a standard alignment, just not guarantee on tire wear.

Josh, could it be Automasters in Cary? They're also pretty good from what I hear. But DC is the place all the "drivers" go to to if you want to have a car really set up. I use to use Kevin at MMAUTOWERKS who was a close second to Brad but he closed his shop and went on to other things.

I couldn't agree more Greg!! I'm glad someone caught the subtle hints I was dropping, HAHA. Of course it's for a couple reasons. If my suspension is gonna fail, I'd much rather it happen in Raleigh than on the Dragon, haha. I might just have to take the car to one of the places you guys are talking about to get it aligned too. I took it to Briggs and Sons down here and I don't think they did much of anything to it, cause comparing the before and after on some of the specs, it didn't look like much changed, and I was left wondering what the hell I just paid for. How much does DC charge? How much do the other places charge? I paid $60 for mine. I've also been toying with the idea of getting it corner balanced too, but it's not even close to finished so I think I'll wait with that. Plus I still have to see about getting some new bushings for the coilovers. No sense in going all out if I'm gonna have the car jacked up and changed again soon.

Call me a wuss all you want, screw that crap, haha. Yeah I'm leaning more towards camping now, especially if I can use someone's shower, haha. And of course a toilet would be nice too every once in a while, I'll just eat as much dairy and MREs as I can, haha. And I need somewhere secure to store all my tools while I'm on the dragon, haha.

You know, that's not a bad idea. A pre-Dragon stress test for our recently worked on cars. My RX-7 *should* be ready for the dragon now, but I haven't really tested it in any extreme conditions-I don't like getting arrested.

Gary, we need to run a few laps around North Carolina!

Eric, when you're ready to have the car corner balanced then DC is the only place to go IMO. Brad will let you hang out in the shop and talk you through the whole process of what he is doing. I can't recall what he charges exactly but the results are better than anyone else. I've seen quite a few before and after spec sheets from where he's redone what other shops did and did it much much better.

Also like I said you guys are more than welcome to use my shower if needed, just leave me some hot water hah!

ps - if you guys need to store **** feel free to do that also.

hmm

i can get ahold of a set of race-car scales that weigh each corner individually..

btw my car weighs in at about 3580 lbs.. with a tank of gas, me, and some **** in it

well corner balancing also has to do with adjusting spring rates and dampening depending on the weight.

+1. So, this weekend before the meet? I'd kinda like to try those roads you guys hit this last weekend, if that's cool.

Well the sad thing is I might not be in NC by the time I finish the car, if I finish it at all.

Id be down for another run. I need to do a brake job soon though. There were a couple times when we were coming down from a high speed run that my brakes made me slightly worried. The pedal shouldnt be pulsing....

The route we took this week seemed to be less technical than the route we've taken in the past. More high speed runs on this one, more low speed sharp turns on the other.

You people are rabid postwhores.

I would bath in the blood of my enemies if I were you guys. Either that, or bath in the fumes of Smokie's car. Guaranteed to destroy funk on contact...and distort vision, destroy brain cells, cause lung cancer...

Well if your going to twist my arm like that, I guess we'll have to take another drive!

How about we do a pre-meet drive along Bert's Route. Meet gather between 3:00 and 3:30pm on Saturday at Char Grill. Start the Drive at 3:30 which should get us back to Char Grill around 5:30 for the meet. Anyone?
